If you had too play two spinners yes, which may well be the case at the oval. 

 

But personally in this test i would of picked the extra batsman and just had moeen as my spinner.

I understand your point but he was dropped when he didn't score enough runs. In order to get back he's going to have to start scoring a few. The main issue for me is that there are too few that seem able to modify their game to suit the situation. Yes we want to see attacking cricket, but allied to an understanding of the situation.

As good a run scorer Buttler can be, he doesn't fill you with confidence that he can "do a cook". In fairness very few do, but there's only so much room in the team. If you were to swap him in for Ballance then maybe, bit still a lack of players that can grind out an innings.

I just love watching him play, admittingly he's better at white ball cricket, but you know he has it him to score big and has all the shots, I know I'd rather see him in a side, even if he's inconsistent than a Ballance for example.

Woakes would defo be playing if fit and we'd be better for it, Philander is a great bowler also, it's isn't easy, Malan got a peach from Rabada also.

In fairness Westley did OK.

For me Buttler needs to shape himself.

 

The conditions favoured the bowlers yesterday and are likely to be similar throughout.

Once Anderson et al have had a go it will be easier to assess how well they have all batted.

There is no one at county level who is scoring so many runs that they have to be picked.
