January 13, 201511 yr Do you think we'd be better or worse off if we'd left Saddaam in charge? Probably better. How Iraq was run wasn't affecting us. It is now. Generally, we should try to keep out of other countries, unless it's genocide.

Was it not genocide when Saddam was killing the Marsh Arabs in the South and the Kurds in the North? Should we be going into Nigeria and having a crack at Boko Haram? Not defending anyone just curious as to what your definition of genocide is. Edited January 13, 201511 yr by floyd

Not defending anyone just curious as to what your definition of genocide is. Was it not genocide when Saddam was killing the Marsh Arabs in the South and the Kurds in the North? Don't know Should we be going into Nigeria and having a crack at Boko Haram? Don't know I would need to research to understand the issues. Historically, we would be guided by the international community (UN?) would define and we would act together. whether they have retained authenticity I don't know. Assuming that they are/were not genocide, as we haven't intervened, then I can see no rationale to have intervened in Iraq. Certainly, our intervention was not as a result of any genocide.
