Only the likes of Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal have enough support to sell out week in week out, mainly because it's not the same folk going week in and week out.

I imagine this will gradually produce a Championship that is as top heavy as the Premier League, with around a dozen clubs consistently trading places between lower Prem and upper Championship. All of which means Gartside's vision of 2 Premier Leagues wasn't necessarily the swivel eyed notion of a crackpot after all.

All of which means Gartside's vision of 2 Premier Leagues wasn't necessarily the swivel eyed notion of a crackpot after all. 9 clubs have been relegated from the Prem 3 or more times. They are the yo-yo clubs of the modern era. 4 of these are in the current Prem - Palace, Leicester, Sunderland and West Brom, and all seem more likely to be relegated rather than gaining a European spot in the next few years. 5 are in the Championship - Boro, Forest, Norwich, Bolton and Birmingham. Apart from Boro, whose time may have come, they are not pulling up trees. Most clubs in the Championship, at least 75% I would say, begin a season with clear title and promotion aspirations. That is why it is the best league - not the sheer quality of play, but the relative unpredictability of so many matches. Parachute payments initially go to 'losers' who, whether deserved or not, have experienced the ignominy of relegation. Most players are affected to some extent by this, and others are encouraged to sit out generous contracts (still generous even with significant reduction clauses). This is not a good situation from which to regain status. Players who have spent 3 years trying not to lose now have to play to win. A club like Bournemouth enter the Championship with positive momentum and the same could be the case for Sheffield United next season.

Apparently Danny G (conspiracy theorist extraordinaire) is an expert on how to get the best out of the service. the person in the pub i heard it from now gets every weekend game , some better than others. pretty good as up here we are miles from the nearest bt exchange and our fibre optic speed is not the best. perhaps danny could pm some tips i cud pass on for small recompense that would optimise things for this cad and charlitan? as an aside I'm sure he shags my missus on a regular basis.

Pushing England even further behind. agree. and worse championship players will cost more, want to be paid twice as much, and want more for agents. nothing has improved since the conception of the PL other than magnificent marketeers would have you believe its somat you cannot do without. coca cola and mcdonalds do the same.
