February 10, 201511 yr 18 months before the Prem started I saw a Spurs v Arsenal game for 8 quid at White Hart Lane. A ticket for same part of ground (Shelf) would, I'm guessing, have cost 7 or 8 times that last Saturday. I don't reckon many people's wages have increased 7 or 8 fold in the past 2 decades. Apart from players, agents and assorted hangers on. If there was any degree of sanity in the game (which there isn't) these extra tens of millions per club would be used to make tickets affordable to the ordinary fan again (and his or her kids). Until people refuse to carry on being fleeced, they'll keep getting fleeced though. 40 quid was my cut off in the Prem... so probably won't see another away game when we get up again unless something changes. Because they won't always be in the Premier League and if people stop going because they can't afford it, they won't suddenly start going again when their presence becomes more important to the club.

February 11, 201511 yr TV Revenue is increasing......therefore so will ticket prices and players wages. It won't be long now until the likes of Chelsea, Man Utd and Man City will be paying the top players £500K per week. It's just shit.

Good product, good match day experience by all accounts on here over the years, big crowds etc.

Would a reduction of say a tenner a ticket really be that injurious to the clubs? A few more through the turnstiles would also help
February 11, 201511 yr I don't. I've no interest in watching any other club than my own. Sky can go to fuck as far as I'm concerned. Admirable but your one of very few though. I just don't get the impending doom thing. Yes the money should be spread better. But we have am extremely healthy football league. The only one in Europe with 4 competitive divisions. Crowds of 2/3k as low as league 2. I think we are doing ok. For every Coventry or Leeds there's a fleetwood or Mkdons. Keep the dough coming in I say. It filters through eventually. More of it should I know,but the league is hardly failing to pieces. It's healthier than its ever been.
