May 7, 201511 yr We were in this mess 5 years ago with the added worry of the banks going into meltdown and still muddled through. We will again. We will. I just don't think we are quite strong enough yet to get the credit cards out again. Tony Blair was the right man at the right time then it ran out of control bit like Thatcher and then Major ended up fucking up so much good work leaving a shit legacy for many. But Ed Milliband...Fuck me he frightens me from the outset. Another couple of years under the tories then I'd be happy for a strong middle ground labour to come back but we know it don't work like that.
May 7, 201511 yr I think Labour have missed a trick here. Cameron clearly isn't as popular as he himself believes and back in '97 when Major was on the ropes, Labour use D:Ream's anthem to get themselves in power. If Labour picked a decent song, they'd piss it. What's that paedo astronomer from Oldham up to these days?
May 7, 201511 yr And get Creationism on the curriculum of every state school? If UKIP want to go back to the 1950's that lot want the 1650's. The 1690s, actually. Is teaching creationism on the DUP manifesto is it? I hadn't noticed. At least they have British interests at heart and take a sensible approach to most issues rather than the raving leftists from the Welsh and Scottish parties who would need to prop up a Labour govt. Don't forget that for thirty odd years the union to them was literally a matter of life and death.

Also, now this subject has been brought up let's not skirt over the issue of the number of Muslim schools popping up. I'm not sure which is worse, being born from the rib of a bloke or being the follower of a child 'marrier'
May 7, 201511 yr Speaking of which, there was a mistake in their campaign, polling day is today, not the 2nd of June...Get voting - FOR SOCIALIST LABOUR!
May 7, 201511 yr There won't be a winner. Which makes Cameron an epic fucking loser and Milliband a sort of shitty winner. If that makes any sense at all.
May 7, 201511 yr There won't be a winner. Which makes Cameron an epic fucking loser and Milliband a sort of shitty winner. If that makes any sense at all. Miliband not beating an unpopular leader of an unpopular government makes him a winner?
May 7, 201511 yr There won't be a winner. Which makes Cameron an epic fucking loser and Milliband a sort of shitty winner. If that makes any sense at all. it does indeed though looking at it in a positive way that makes them both wishy washy on the political spectrum which I suppose is better than über left/right. I'm not sure that makes sense either but I know that I mean
May 7, 201511 yr There won't be a winner. Which makes Cameron an epic fucking loser and Milliband a sort of shitty winner. If that makes any sense at all. Undoootedly, Sturgeon will proclaim herself a winner
May 7, 201511 yr Miliband not beating an unpopular leader of an unpopular government makes him a winner? Aye, sort of Him and the wee Scottish lass will have enough seats to fuck Dave over big time, whereas Dave will be totally powerless unless he gets a majority. Clegg will go wherever he gets to pretend he's actually relevant and have a go at playing with the big boys again. The absolute arse.
May 7, 201511 yr It is being suggested in certain circles that the Tories have already been preparing to try and destabilise the Labour, SNP block via their right wing media outlets. If the Tories are largest party but well short even in coalition they will apparently try and force the centre right of labour to oust Miliband and support them in a minority government. Using their favourable media to do so. This is my worst fear. Rather have some stability somehow than weeks of wrangling and gameplaying. We have first past the post and in my view whoever can get past that post be it coalition or agreement should be allowed to govern. Irrespective of seat shares and the like.
May 7, 201511 yr A lot of scaremongering there, saw a lot of it last night on my Twitter feed. However the left wing bias of the BBC will act as a counter.
May 7, 201511 yr Bwfcfan5 were you not around 5 years ago? Yes. But this potentially could be quite different. The argument over legitimacy will not be so clear cut I don't think. Everyone knew that Labour had to be close to a majority last time and the clear single party to remain in government. This time it is murkier if of course the polls are right. Which they probably aren't....

May 7, 201511 yr Don't see Con + UKIP getting less that 45% I wouldn't have thought UKIP will come into the equation....They won't get anymore than 2 seats
May 7, 201511 yr No it isn't. You are fundamentally wrong. It is different in the fact that it is possible that the largest single party won't be able to form a majority coalition with any feasible combination. Personally as I've said I think the polls are wrong but if they are right that is where we are headed and is what could be quite different from last time.
May 7, 201511 yr Labour with the nationalists and Lib Dems is feasible and likely. Yes but the Tories likely to be largest party but without a possible route to 323. That is where in my view it could get messy.
