Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted April 13, 2018 Site Supporter Posted April 13, 2018 We're also washed out. Did wonder. Think it was Kent and Gloucester on teletext. No mention of lancs so hoped we might get some play. Be reet tomorrow Quote
maaarsh Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 Underway now - thanks to these silly toss rules (designed to stop crap teams trying to win half their games by preparing puddings and winning the toss) we have been put in to bat on a pitch which has had a full day sweat through no fault of our own Quote
Piemon Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Nice touch on the Lancs website this season being able to watch the non televised games in the County Championship and 50 overs on a live stream. i'll spend a few hours at work this season watching that im sure. Quote
Piemon Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 bad morning. Currently lead by 2 runs with 2 wickets remaining Quote
Salford Trotter Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Lancs all out for 73 so Notts need 10 runs to win Quote
famouswanderer Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 notts need 9 to win currently 5-3 its on! Quote
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted April 16, 2018 Site Supporter Posted April 16, 2018 Question - given the weather, and the fact that pitches often yield low scores (not always) early in the season, would it not be better to play the one day competition completely first, then get the championship matches in a bit later. Pitches with a bit of help for bowlers often make for a more exciting spectacle in dayers and it takes away big changes in pitch conditions as they dry over a day or two. Quote

This is less likely in April, May and September One Day an, especially, T20, now dominate the prime months. Well, money dictates. That said, it is a professional sport. Money talks. But, let's not be too surprised if the Aussies win here next year. In my world, proper cricket gets priority. Quote

Salford Trotter Posted April 20, 2018 Posted April 20, 2018 Essex all out for 150 and Lancs 65/4 so not a batting wicket it seems Quote
miamiwhite Posted April 20, 2018 Author Posted April 20, 2018 Seems to be all over the country with below par scores the Order of the day. Quote
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted April 20, 2018 Site Supporter Posted April 20, 2018 Water table must be high. We've had shit loads of rain; I'm around a month behind with regards to grass cutting- yet today's lawns were still soft as buggery. Must be really difficult trying to prepare decent wickets. Northwest tonight reporting now how farmors are struggling with the latest spring. Quote
