So why don’t you tell them that Brexit is not an issue now (hence the millions working here) and they can come back for their jobs. If they don’t want to come back, which seems pretty obvious going off your replies, then it’s obvious Brexit isn’t really the issue.

Reminds me of those Bolton fans who said they’re not attending until Megson has gone.

We've seen plenty of electrical engineers leave because of Brexit, it's just a fact. Initially, some left because they were given no guarantee at all by our Government that they'd actually be allowed to stay. Others have left since, because the R&D funding that their companies used to get from the EU hasn't, and won't be replaced by the UK Government, so they've been forced to move, and that is 100% down to Brexit.

Its just sadly, something that we'll need to get used to. We don't seem to want to be a centre of excellence for electronic design anymore but I'm sure that there is a long term plan being put in place to offset that.....

thanks Sweep

I just couldn’t be arsed stating the obvious

They left because of Brexit. It’s just that simple.

Had Brexit not happened , they wouldn’t have left.  You can waffle on all day about paperwork but it’s too late, the damage is done.

So why are thousands arriving weekly to work, Is this a different BREXIT for them? Where are your old employees now?

You'll just never get past those who think everything is absolutely perfect since Brexit, and that Brexit hasn't caused a single issue.

True 😁

Although, to be fair, he's admitted his huge mistake many times since

Correct

I was wrong.

Unfortunately with national votes it’s normal to be given a crack at rectifying a mistake but not with this. So hey ho.

Youre not getting what I’m saying. Or you are but choosing to ignore it.

Theyve gone. Regardless of any paperwork you think will suddenly make things easier (doubt it).

Theyve gone.

They may come back in 3/4/5 years but by then a lot of harm has been inflicted.

And as far as I can tell, for no positive reason.

You can tell them all you like, but you’ll have to shout really loud.

I’m getting what you’re saying but more fool them. They’re the ones turning down over 30k a year because of a problem that really isn’t a problem.

Well then I’m guessing they’re getting a decent wage there. Surely if they needed money they would have gone to one of the many EU country’s to work there? That maybe the answer I’ve been looking for (unless Brexit is preventing them from working in Germany, France, Italy etc)
