I just find it hard to believe these skilled workers want to go back to these awful places they’ve come from when being paid a decent wage. Maybe the problem is the employer not the employee?

That isn’t the problem.

Keep trying.

Oooh you're right, he might be. Good thinking RW, best keep my eye on him. Tricky buggers these uncover Albanian gangs, they take any guise - takeaway owner, car washer, award winning theatre writer.

I didn’t say he was, I’m just asking how do you know he’s not? I’m guessing gang members don’t go about telling ticket touts their business 🤷🏻‍♂️

Why would we need to watch it? Good luck to the lad, but it wouldn’t change my opinion 1 jot.

And there we have it folks 😁

You couldn't make up Mounts, I swear.

Oh sorry you first blamed Brexit when you know that wasn’t true, then I think you said they were nervous, so nervous over here that they went back 🤷🏻‍♂️

As I say you could be dead right. Thank you RW, I will keep my ear to the ground from now on.

Thank goodness you are always vigilant, or else where would we be 😄

He's probably also raping our white women as well, best keep an eye out for that as well (remember, it's only a problem if it's white women, if they're Darkies, it's probably OK)

If it’s the employer - they would probably have got another job in the UK for someone nicer. There’s loads of jobs going as we keep being told by the government.

So it’s not that.

So I wonder what it is.

It maybe your problem but not a problem nationwide. More skilled workers are now coming into the U.K.

Weird that this lot - and many like them - have gone “home”.

maybe I’m just in the wrong industry, along with dozens of other manufacturers I speak to every day who are having the exact same problem.

Not sure what industry you’re in, must be better organised than ours 😢

Just going off official figures.

I’ve no idea, maybe you’re not paying enough? Shit pound and all that 🤷🏻‍♂️ Maybe they just wanted a change? Whatever it is we know it’s not Brexit, that was just a poor excuse.

I’m just going off what I’m actually experiencing, and what I know other manufacturers in the West Midlands and Manchester are going through.

I accept it’s not conclusive, but I also know that hundreds of skilled EU folk have gone home.

Im just dead unlucky.

Aghhhhh let’s blame the mail. The Government website helps explain to you those that are eligible to stay. You said yours could but they were nervous (bless them). Why are the thousands coming over a week not nervous? Why are the millions already here not nervous? You’re still getting your sausage muffins and car washed so there’s obviously a problem your side.

Do these figures mention who’s leaving?

And if you know any good welders/fabrication lads or lasses , hit me up. Good money on offer.

I’d guess those who aren’t being paid enough are leaving.

Not looked, like I say if they have Whats required to work here they can. If they still decide to leave then I reckon the problem lies elsewhere.

Okidoke.

I can only tell you what they told me.

And they didn’t go and work down the road.

You know best, but down at the coal face, the problem is still there. That you can’t see it isn’t up to me like

But they can work here, there’s nothing but some paperwork stopping them so what’s the problem? Surely their nerves must have settled by now?

I’ll send you their phone numbers, ask them yourself.

Im not making this up for a weird wank

Frankly m, I don’t give a fuck if our welders are from the planet Zargon and have dicks for noses and feet made of sushi, they fucked off because (and I quote) “because Brexit”

the queue of quality English lads at the door looks like the away end on Tuesday night.

So why don’t you tell them that Brexit is not an issue now (hence the millions working here) and they can come back for their jobs. If they don’t want to come back, which seems pretty obvious going off your replies, then it’s obvious Brexit isn’t really the issue.

Reminds me of those Bolton fans who said they’re not attending until Megson has gone.

We've seen plenty of electrical engineers leave because of Brexit, it's just a fact. Initially, some left because they were given no guarantee at all by our Government that they'd actually be allowed to stay. Others have left since, because the R&D funding that their companies used to get from the EU hasn't, and won't be replaced by the UK Government, so they've been forced to move, and that is 100% down to Brexit.

Its just sadly, something that we'll need to get used to. We don't seem to want to be a centre of excellence for electronic design anymore but I'm sure that there is a long term plan being put in place to offset that.....
