Just had my payslip from the new school,

Paying me 56 quid a day..

I'm hoping it's a mistake... or else it will be my shortest employment ever...

I’m assuming you agreed a wage/salary before starting.....

It will be emergency tax due to the 16,000 other occupations he has.

Even at emergency tax levels, that's pretty low for a qualified teacher surely

I'd heard that, but put it down as a pisstake by older scene members on us young nuggets...

Or that wires had been crossed because of their famous NYC Ritz gig.

If it was true then hundreds of metalheads and punks would've been forced to go to Ciro Cittero or Burton for crap pants, shirt and shoes to get in. :)

I also heard Death Angel played or were supposed to play the Crown and Flick too.

On the subject of Raging Kipper, I have in a nostalgia box a flyer of a gig they played at Wigan Bus Driver's Club, also on the bill were some unknown yank blokes, Green Day I think they were called.

Wonder where they went?

It was the LUT club in Atherton/Howebridge, the other group were called GreenGage (IIRC) used to go regularly on Saturday nights around 1976 - 1980

We're you a regular on the thrash/death metal/hardcore/crust/punk scene in the late eighties and early nineties then?

I think not. :)

It was Green Day, the Green Day.

I believe one of 'em comes from money - hence being able to 'tour' Europe as relative unknowns...

I think Jailcell Recipes were the third act on the bill.

I think Green Day are shite btw.

There’s more if you want it, too. Ste/Spam of Lofthouse/Automatics ‘fame’ played guitar in Raging Kipper, didn’t he?

I know there was a video randomly filmed (by Spam and friends?) around town (Arndale etc.) on YouTube years ago, from years ago, probably 1987-ish, whenever it was it was a time not many folk had camcorders (RRP £699.95 @ Dixons)...

I famously skipped the chance to see Green Day at the Boardwalk supported by China Drum a long time ago. What a fuckin' huge error that was. Had to wait another 20+ years to finally see China Drum. (Never seen Green Day - but they were half decent in the early 90s).

Can't quite remember if Gang Green were meant to be supporting DRI at Ritzy's. Didn't happen. I did have a copy of Older Budweiser as well.
