Aussies saying that they will rest 1 or 2 of the main bowlers?

Kidology?

England team for first Ashes Test: Rory Burns, Jason Roy, Joe Root (c), Joe Denly, Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes, Jonny Bairstow, Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, Stuart Broad, James Anderson.

Bit strange picking the team early and without Archer.

Fingers crossed, but will their bowlers edge it?

We'll miss Archer if its flat and not moving in the air. I found it odd he's not playing but perhaps the idea is to get his side rested fully then bring him in down the line?

There is talk Australia are leaving Starc out too.

Assuming Edgbaston goes ok, I guess Archer for Broad at Lords.

The thing is I'm not sure Lords is an ideal place for Archer...

And unless he has a stinker I think Broad's in. It is Woakes or Archer I think as a choice....unless they play an extra bowler...which I would but they won't.

Woakes must be a shoo in for Lords, with his record there?

Archer was supposedly managing a bit of a side strain in the world cup.

I would assume they're getting him 100% before putting him into the test arena.

Good toss to lose

hoping for 3 wickets by lunch.....

Great start by England this!

Bye, cunt

Got me chuckling that.

Not seen any of it so far, how have we bowled?

Said on the radio on a bit I heard that stokes had bowled all over the place- have we let them off the hook a bit, or is it all good?

Anderson gone for a scan on calf injury.

Slow pitch, little zip.

Stokes relieved the pressure

105 - 5

Woakes two quick wickets.

112-6  Lovely Jubbly
