Points return last 15 games

I've just looked at the fixtures and every game is either away (we lose), or at home against top 6 (we lose) or against in form teams (we lose).  I really hope I'm wrong but I think this is going to be our worst run of the season, we're 2 defeats into it so far.  No  home game v Southend, Wimbledon or Tranmere for light relief.  If we beat Wycombe I'll take it all back and say we're on a storming run of 3 home games unbeaten.

Does it really matter. We just want to see some improvement and structure and a plan.

We could have great improvement, structure and a plan but if we dont win a game in the last 17 and lose about 14, it wont matter.  Everyone was buzzing when we won 3 on the trot and we didnt have any more of a plan then than we have now,.  Results breeds positivity, optimism and S/T sales, consistent defeats means negativity and pessimism.

How many games have we got left 16? I'm hoping for some signs of improvement and quite a few more points on board regardless of the opposition, can't see it happening though, most of the players won't be at the club for much longer, so they're not that arsed and they won't want to get an injury, can't wait for this season to finish tbh.

Start defending properly will do me. The bar is so low now that I’m celebrating corners again. Ooooh it’s a corner

Corners don't excite me tbh, they usually end up with Remi punting it back up field or picking it out of his net.

Then you could be the next manager.

Haha. I don’t think I’d have the bravado or energy to convince others I’ve got in hand.

If you've ever done a bit of mortaring a few bricks together, you're qualified to talk about building blocks.

Throw in a few passages from Shakespeare or some such and quote the Jabberwocky and you're in.

Dunno about that but I’ve eaten plenty of onions

That was my fear when I started the thread.  90% of our points have been fairly predictable -  draws or wins against the poorest opponents, generally at home. But we've played all the poor sides at home and we know what our away form is like.  I'm struggling to see any more wins, and draws will be few and far between.

3 defeats since I started this thread, but now we've got one of the 3 "winnable" games coming up (if we count Southend away and Lincoln home as winnable).  To avoid a record of no wins in the last 20 or so, we could do with a win v Accy.  I can see improvements in performance compared to the Bristol Rovers draw and the heavy defeats but no win in 20 is unacceptable for anyone.

Keef said we could win 12 of our last 16.

I think we've 12 left now and still 12 wins short of 12 wins.

11 games to go, not being negative but assessing the games as if I was betting on them, I'm saying 9 are defeats, and we might get a draw at Southend and a point at home if we play well, possibly Lincoln or Doncaster.  I'll take a continuation of our 1 goal defeats in the other aways and no more 4 or 5 goal embarrassments.

I know what you are saying but I bet you a tenner we win another game this season.

I might have agreed if Murphy and Politic were in one of their goalscoring runs, but I dont see it happening.  Every win we've had has been against a lower team apart from Fleetwood (who've improved hugely), and we only have Southend away that are either bottom  7 or out of form.

We'd better do more than that: be no-one there and little enthusiasm for next season.

TBF I don't think what happens from now on will have an affect on next season, it's all down to what happens at season end to generate interest, if Hillcroft is still in place that then may affect interest.

Fair point- though an upturn in performance and results may ease some of the negativity, even if folk aren't convinced.

Can't see that happening however.

I think there'll be plenty interest in August.  3 scenarios:   1.  New manager and a virtually new squad = loads of interest in who they are and how they'll play; 2.  Hill manager, with roughly the same squad as now, which is good enough to compete in Div 2 = plenty belief we can have a promotion run (misguided or not); 3 Hill manager with him losing the likes of Lowe, Darcy, Politic, Crawford = a hard sell, but it will be October before reality hits home that we aren't good enough, and he'll probably get sacked by then anyway and we'll all be full of optimism again.  This season will make very little difference to how we feel in August.
