Cycle Turbo Trainer

Featured Replies

Any of you good folk got/use one of these? If so, are they any good?

Considering getting one as opposed to cycling up the hill of death I live on.

Where would I get one at a reasonable price?

Just the trainer or the full shebang?

Halfords seem to have the 50quid bikehut one back in stock

two weeks ago like rocking horse shit trying to get hold of one

I'm not sure. All I have so far is a bike.

Yeah Halfords do a few under £100. Rollers are good and tend to be cheaper

I have one of these:

It's ok, pretty stable. There's a cable to alter resistance but mine is a devil to shift. It's pretty old though so that may be why.

I’ve got one of these too. Got mine from decathlon.

I just set the resistance once and then alter is it using your gears rather than the cable.

Having said that, not used mine in months. Bores me shitless, much rather be out in the fresh air.

Looking at getting a smart one that links up to Swift to get me through the winter

Appreciate any advice for anyone who has a similar rig

I've one you can have for nowt Traf, not been used for ages and might be a trek for you to get but I think it still works (wasn't mine).

It's one of these I think but it is a bit of an old un:

Ernest, if traf wants that, I get over his way once a week

i've been looking at these this week also

bit of a minefield

the bog standard turbos you'll need some of bits to attach to it then it knows how much watts you're pumping out etc

especially if you're gonna connect and zwift

Just having a look at this Watt Bike Atom

Its a full indoor bike rather than a turbo trainer, looks the business

£1,599 means it ain’t cheap but a decent smart turbo trainer is £500 and that’s before you’ve stuck a bike on it
