November 24, 20205 yr Fucking robbing bastards! Cable ties? They’re about a penny each. £41 for oil? And what the fuck is a cabin filter.

Wasn't bothered about cable ties, there's nmore tie than wheel now - cabin filter, doesn't it just filter the air that gets into the car, and when its done it needs replacing.

November 24, 20205 yr Find another garage,it’s daylight robbery. All you needed was 2 budget tyres £90, discs & pads no more than £70, oil &filter & top up fluids (thats all you need, the rest is just oily fingerprints)no more than £70, Wiper blades £20 tops, mot £45 = £295 all in inc labour. You need to shop around & stop getting puntered. Usually best to go off other folks recommendations for honest garages imo. Edited November 24, 20205 yr by Burndens Bogs
November 24, 20205 yr Author Fair enough, ts the third garage I've been to round here. One tried to replace my cam belt, even though it'd been replaced 3 months previously. Thought this one might be ok as its always busy, small and local but its steeper than I've usually had, even for London, plus it had good recomendations from people in 'The Village' of Shortlands https://www.approvedgarages.co.uk/Garage/Douglas-Compton/ I know they are slightly more expensive but it's always been decent quality. Guess I need to look elsewhere again. Any recomednations in South London/Kent?
November 24, 20205 yr Must admit, the guesstimates i posted are Bolton type prices, but reasonably accurate i think. I know that there Lahndon is a lot more expensive, but £860 is just a joke. Just before Xmas aswell, that’s a pisser. Edited November 24, 20205 yr by Burndens Bogs

Just before Xmas aswell, that’s a pisser. Yeah, but even with the hike it is a lot. Its a nice area so people don't tend to question the prices much I'd guess (some of the houses nearby are well over a million for a pretty normal four bed family house - not mine like!) Might be better taking it some somewhere in Croydon or Orpington. Yes it is a pisser, wanted to get everything sorted whilst I still had my redundancy money as that's an outlay at xmas. About to pick up a bike for my other half's xmas present. Going to be an expensive day. Thanks for the advice though, if you don't know, you don't know what you should be paying.

November 24, 20205 yr banter on here. "Robbing bastards" "Cheeky cunts" people want folk to earn a fair wage remember......it costs

And we aren't talking small change, it is easy to blag full discs and pads to the tune of £250 to loads who thing the dealer knows best. I would have the fuckers shut down. They especially prey on old dears too which is deplorable. I work at a dealer and we only recommend work and fully explain why it’s needed or if it needs to be rechecked further down the line. Oh and we do discs and pads for £199 fitted so your being ripped off at £250 😂

So the £500 saving could be spent on fuel to drive to NW England and have it done up here and still save £400 I reckon.
