Find another garage,it’s daylight robbery. All you needed was 2 budget tyres £90, discs & pads no more than £70, oil &filter & top up fluids (thats all you need, the rest is just oily fing

A service is part of the MOT?

I once had a car with a rusty hole over the rear wheel arch. The guy at the garage told me to cover it with duct tape so he couldn’t see it.

MOT passed.

Don’t let them charge you for wipers for gods sake

That doesn't sound like a bad MOT at all.

Forget the cost of the service as that's nothing to do with your MOT.

If you’re an Alfa driver this is fucking brilliant 😁

Tried, went to two halfords this weekend, no had mine in stock and ran out of time looking so.....

Yes, I added the service in but I reckon its not going to be cheap.

Aye, don't Alpha's have to be rebuilt every service?

Two new tyres £150 part worn £60

Brake pads £50 each

New car seat? eBay or scrap yard. Fit it yourself piece of piss

They'll fit Bosch wipers £30

Labour on top of all that, i dunno

Going off your shoe and music taste I’m assuming you’re not driving a Merc 😂 so these are the lower end prices

You strike me as a Citroen man, or something French as least

Tyres from blackcircles, tyresonthedrive etc

There is a theory that tyres and brake pads should never need changing at the same time, but there’s a lot of contributing factors to that

Quite. Piece of piss once you've learned, and bought any special tools required.

Apply that to lots of situations and...

Fair point. My owd fella taught me the basics when I was young and I’ve taught myself ever since and it’s paid off for me but if you don’t know and don’t have the tools best off leaving it

Still can cut my own grass though 😁

What like forest gump 😂

Tyres,Brake Pads,Wipers - all consumables, if the vehicle is 5 years old or over, then that's a fairly decent Mot result.

Haha. No it was supposed to be a dig you having a scooter. Poor attempt at humour. As I said, back in my box I go.

Mine passed last week. Eleven years old nothing needed.

A couple of years back it needed wipers. The garage had already fitted them when I went to collect but only charged me for the parts  (reasonable) nothing for fitting.

Got my mums sorted for her a few weeks back. 12 year old, sailed through. Bloody good at making stuff them Germans.

Fair enough. Just hate spending money on the car. Just boring.

Oh and they've not charged me for fixing the seat, just gave me a telling off.
