Not croaked it

What a national treasure that man is. I’ve spent the last few weeks rewatching Planet Earth And Blue Planet. Stunning TV

The man should be considered to be on the next new £ note.

The world would be more looked after if we listened to this mon more.

Got a new show out on the 3rd as well.

Plus he worked for the beeb in the 70s and isn’t a nonce.

He should be given a 2nd knighthood. Sir Sir David Attenborough

He's already got two

"Sir David Attenborough, the naturalist and broadcaster who became the environmental conscience of the nation, has been awarded a second knighthood at the age of 94. Attenborough who was knighted in 1985, has been appointed a Knight Grand Cross of the Order of St Michael And St George for services to television broadcasting and conservation. He said: “I am, of course, most honoured that my work should have been recognised in this way.” The Order of St Michael and St George recognises service in a foreign country, or in relation to foreign and Commonwealth affairs."

The biggest tribute anyone could give him is doing something proper about deforestation and the dismantling of our ecosystem in which our life depends.

Think hed prefer that than the queen tapping him on the shoulder.

McDonalds - probably the single biggest consumer of beef aren't messing.

They've set a target date of 2030 to remove all 'rainforest sourced products' from their supply chain.

There'll probably be a good acreage of the Amazon left by then, probably about the size of Belgium.

Ample for utilising as 'The Planet's Lungs'.

If the planet was a double-pnuemonia Covid patient with end stage COPD, A.I.D.s and a sixty a day Red Marlboro habit.

People will often say 'what's the point?' of the 'west' curbing consumption and emissions etc. when there's billions of Indians, Chinese, Indonesians, Brazilians et al ready to take up the slack and start driving American muscle cars, building tyre-fired power stations and eating 6lb of sirloin steak a day...

Well there is a point - Sir David makes it, often.

There's plenty rapists out there, we were discussing signing one ffs. Why curb our rapaciousness when there's loads out there a rapin' - it's pointless...

I don't think i've ever watched an hour long David Attenborough documentary from start to finish, I find the subject he covers slightly tedious.

It's not that i've got a short attention span I can happily sit through Michael Palin travel documentaries for an hour but im just not that interested  in the likes of giraffes, hummingbirds and whales however well the commentator talks about them.

What I find particularly interesting about him, is the fact that, by his own admission, he was initially doing his work in an environmentally damaging way.

He didn't know at the time, and as knowledge grew, turned it all around to become the man we know.

If he can do it, so can millions more.
