Yeeeeh Hawww

Been getting into a little Alt Country and Americana over the last six months, spurred on by Dylan and the excellent First Aid Kit. Anyone else like a bit of a this? Any recomendations? Loving Uncle Tupelo, Neko Case, Son Volt and old favourites like My Morning Jacket plus the all old boys like Cash, Willie Nelson, John Prine.

Were only weeks away from seeing the splendour of the cowboy boots.

I think it’s time to book jasmine and get the jolly boys organized for end of June 👍🏼

Calexico and Lambchop from 20 years ago when Americana had its last cycle

Love Calexico, Feast of Wire was a stunning album.

Was never a fan of Lambchop though, I think wht I'm aiming for is less indie Americana, and stuff like Mary Chaplin Carpenter, Ruston Kelly - even loving a bit of Lyle Lovett and The Chicks.

Anything with Levon Helm on it basically.

Drive by truckers but they are more rock - country band if you get my drift .  Steve Earle is a fav of mine .

Emperor Rosko (remember him?) has a weekly C&W show syndicated worldwide to numerous radio stations from his studio in LA. I am no C&W fanatic or officianado but I do enjoy his show. He has some very listenable stuff on and the ooccasional surprise e.g. a Country song featuring Jerry Lee Lewis and Mick Jagger.

I listen to it in Thailand on Pattaya Fabulous 103FM. You should be able to pick it up on't internet. It starts 11am UK time on a Monday, repeated same time on Wednesday, I think.

Josh Ritter - a little bit middle of the road and wears his influences on his sleeve, but a great songwriter and excellent live. A large back catalogue to get stuck into as well.

Try a little joey landreth, still feel gone is a great song, as is whiskey. Some good versions on't youtube.

Jacob bryant is good, pour whiskey on my grave is a particular favourite.

John Hiatt, though you have to pick your tracks, some are phenomenal some a bit middling.

Chris stapleton has done lots of great stuff and has one hell of a voice.

Greg Allman live back to macon ga is a great live album.

Anything acoustic by warren haynes is always worth a listen

john mayer does a lot of bluesy / country stuff.

the great lucinda williams is a must listen also

Hopefully it should keep you entertained for a while....

Quite like Trampled by Turtles if you like the faster stuff. They do a cracking tune about Whisky.

Thanks, will give them a whirl

Got into CMTV in the 90's

Confederate Railroad were a good band, still have "Amy's Back in Austin" and "Daddy Never was a Cadillac Kind" on my playlist.

Up to date... check out Les Johnson & Me from Glasgow and "15 Hands", brilliant album if you don't take it too seriously
