LeggyMountbatten Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 As for fans forums, maybe a few more of us who feel the passion and are willing to tell them what we really think should try and get on them, instead of the mice that usually go Precisely my point. We all know that the BWSA is the biggest pile of shit ever - a collection of old gimmers saying yes Mr. Gartside whatever you say. I think what would help this club is to form an independent supporters association that would actively campaign for the grievances that many BWFC fans have. The true fans need a voice.
HomerJay Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 The club will think everything is rosy as long as we are getting the Sky cash cow. It really annoyed me on Saturday that we were trying to get the team going and all we had were the orange brigade telling us to sit down. Someone should tell them that it doesn't work telling people to sit down, working their way from the back. #-o #-o They don't seem to bother in the last 10 mins of games though. There can be a good atmosphere at the Reebok as has been proved a few times, but they need to let us create it. As for fans forums, maybe a few more of us who feel the passion and are willing to tell them what we really think should try and get on them, instead of the mice that usually go. :-# :-# rule should be imo: 1. No standing in silence with your arms folded, unless someone on front of you is standing. 2. If you insist on standing then you MUST you sing and shout. Sorted
wayne cramp Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 BOBHAT , MOVE WITH THE TIMES ! I KNOW YOU ARE STUCK AS I WENT IN THE GREY MARE LAST WEEK , NOW THATS AN EXPERIENCE, YOU COULDNT GET TO THE BAR FOR FCUKIN DOGS LYING ROUND YER FEET . WHATS ALL THAT ABOUT ?
Mounts Kipper Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 at burnden park going to the match was an event, you would get the bus to bolton town centre have a couple of beers, then walk down to the ground stopping in all the pubs on the way, hopefully bumping into the away fans special train, for a bit of banter, then into burnden, if the match was crap there was always the banter between the lads and someone taking the piss out of the players or the managers, after the game it was the long pub crawl back into town, 100s of lads did this week in week out, this would lead to the singing of all the old bolton songs, the young uns dont hear these now hence two songs only being sung at the reebok, in short the reebok for all its modern facilities is to clinical, no decent pubs around the ground means most of the lads who used to be in town before and after the match go back to there local, i have give it my best shot to fall in love with the reebok but it aint going to happen.
Casino Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 if we'd won 4-0 on saturday we wouldn't be having this discussion guaranteed just goes to show that what happens opn the pitch is far and away the most important bit of bwfc....corporate shite included (sorry homo #-o )
Guest Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 probably one of the best stadiums in the country. the atmosphere this season is alot better than previous at the reebok! if emerson (the land owners of middlebrook) get their arse in gear and get a new entrance/exit road built then it should be alot better acess than now! ??? Its a pile of wank, shite food, shite bogs, no room under stands, no atmosphere, no tradition, fcuk all. Its a soul-less "stadia" just like all the others. Ive been to most of the new ones and they are all as bad as each other! Then you haveth other end of the scale, Goodison, Villa Park, Arsenal, Murderers. All old and in need of some desperate refurb. Most fans prefer to go to these grounds as they are "Football"! Some where in the middle is were teams are benefiting, United, Newcastle, Chelsea! Its no coincedence that all clubs with new Grounds are seriously in the shit, money wise!!!
Hutch Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 What we need is to create some kind of supporters club based on the Ultras to get the atmosphere back. Look round the Reebok there are no england flags, nothing Everyone takes the piss out of Utd but they have a very, very powerful independent supporters who take no shit off Sky, etc. We need something similar, fronted by a well known lad who is willing to kick it off with BWFC aand get the associated publiity in the BEN & loacl TV
frank_spencer Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 The problem i think is that the 5-10 thousand that were going to matches when i started goin in 92 (at the tender age of 10). are still there but there's 13-16 thousand people who've only just started attending matches! i've also noticed that the people who make the most noise are the owd codgers like me grandad and people of me dads age who you can tell have been going for years. then there's cnuts telling me and the lad in front of me to sit down as they can't see the keeper getting treatment! We're havin fun callin him all the names under the sun if the match was in play then id sit down so you can see but as its not i want to stand up and abuse people! we're caught in a trap all these extra people that come to the matches enable us to pay JJ, campo etc but they don't join in with the atmosphere, they don't sing and shout they just sit and watch!
