Fair dos. Once you're out, you're out anyway  😁

😬 I was an imposter anyway given I wasn’t born there. If I was to return it would likely be more little lever than that overpriced shit hole horwich that’s for sure.

Shit you wasn't born here? I will get the pitchforks sharpened.

Salford iirc.

Anyway, on a day like today, no finer view than the sun setting over the dam at Entwistle. Casts a glow over the lake, and quiet descends as birds settle down to roost.

Tremendous.

Think so.

All these trees they want to plant have to go somewhere!

There is actually a huge looming issue, that I hope isn't fudged by the tree planting, and that is ash dieback.

A large percentage of the nations trees expected to perish and many are already on the way out. T'other half has done some assessment as part of her job and it's anticipated that several new arborists are needed just to fell diseased, unsafe ash trees, for several years. That's just for lancashire.

Many thousands all need replacing, and that's in addition to new ones for global warming prevention.

Mammoth task countrywide.

There are some lovely parts of Bolton, but Lancashire is far better.

Lovely views granted, a wonderful football club and some alright folk but not sure would want to live there

Me neither.

Never thought I'd leave when I was younger.

Now I can't ever see me going back.

Oh and Rudy, you're right about the title. You forgot bookies😃

Lived in Sharples, Smithills and Chew Moor when I lived in Bolton and I really do miss the easy access to Winter Hill and Rivi which are fantastic areas to have close by. What I don’t miss is a shit town centre and poor transport links

I don’t actually like living in East Manc, and would happily move tomorrow, but it’s way easier to get into Manc (obvs), it’s perfect for my job, it’s a piece of piss to get to the airport and the Peak District and living not far from a couple of Metrolink stops is a bigger benefit than I ever thought it would be

Next move is probably North towards Rammy/Rossendale way

Not sure I'd do Bolton, but we'll be back once the kids are older, I prefer being close to a decent city centre and then being able to drive out to the countryside close by rather than living there.

I will add im proud to say where I’m from and still refer to it as home.
its just , for me, where I live now suits me better.

Where you live is what you make of it.

Nothing wrong with moving and bettering yourselves/lives

As much in the same way staying here is perfectly fine as well. It’s a sign of contentment.

It would take something big for me to move away now. I have everything I want here.

Me too..if anybody asks where I'm from I say Bolton rather than where I live.

Just can't see me ever going back.

same here, I left 27 years ago, and thought I'd be back within a few years......still refer to it as home, but I'd never move back, as I absolutely love where I live now
