Just spotted this sad news. A bit before my time but Syd is spoken of fondly by Bolton fans who witnessed the 60s at the club. You only need to look at the stats to appreciate that he's a significant club servant.

I saw Syd play, very steady and fairly quick.

He played first team football for us for 12 years and made over 400 appearances.

Really sad news. The first back four I can recall watching was Hartle, Hulme, Hatton, Farrimond. Some of my very first footballing heroes.

For those of you who wish to pay tribute to Syd Farrimond, the funeral will take place on Thursday May 26th 1.30pm. at Leigh Parish Church.
