Couldn't live there. I'd deffo be arrested for something after a few drinks 🙄

We asked this local couple with their baby to take a picture of us near the Burj thingy.

They then passed us their camera and we just thought they wanted a picture themselves. Which is often the protocol.

They then passed my wife their baby and they wanted a picture of their baby with westerners next to the tower :D

Cheers, do you know if he could live there with his girlfriend , they are not married ! Seems ok but still a bit sketchy !

I don't think they could get a place together

They could each have their own place and then spend all their time at one of them.

Got mate out there who has to do this, and when out there (5 years ago) a mate of his thought he and his bird had been rumbled one night when the police knocked on their door, proper panic but turns out they were just returning a lost wallet

Just asked him:

"No they scrapped that. You can live with someone now - you still can't get legally get pregnant out of wedlock but even that isnt really an issue anymore. My mate and his missus are pregnant and he has only just got divorced from his last wife!"

Do they still castrate the gays?

Dubai is probably the most liberal of the emirates. The supermarkets sell alcohol and have special areas for non-Muslims and sell pork and other non-halal foods.

My lad and his gf went and nobody batted an eyelid they weren’t married. I think, certainly in hotels, as long as whatever you get up to is done away from public viewing, you’ll be reset.

Indeed.

Rule of thumb is

Western with cash = Do what you want.

Muslim and skint = Do as we say.

:)

They’ve simply hit upon a decent formula for attracting Western tourists; don’t be too Islamic. It’s precisely why it’s so popular.

My mate is currently in Saudi working on the neon project, the big cheese over there wants a part to be the next Dubai.

Talking Ski resorts and all sorts.

He wants tunnels through mountains with electric trains etc. Money is no object as you can imagine.

Plus a bit of sportswashing to clean up the image of the place :)

It's absolutely no problem at all. It used to be that only married couples could live together but the rule was ignored and never really implemented. Thay have since got rid of the rule entirely.

I live with my bird, it really isn't any consideration at all.

She wont be if he ventures to Zero Gravity on a ladies day brunch party.

Fook me.

when me and a mate went out to stay at another mates out there

did brunch on the friday

that last hour of outdoor brunch and then a couple of hours in doors in the bar is an absolute free for all on the booze, like everyone has been told the world ends tomorrow and are just getting as much down their necks as they can

anyway, there was this one bird, absolutely paralytic, coudln't stand up or walk straight at 3pm, went arse over tit into this guy coming away from the bar with a load of drinks on a tray, she falls into his legs and sends him face first into the marble floor, and everything smashed

blood everywhere

saw him on our flight home a few days later

Fair chance of that happening on Bolton from what I've heard, so you're probably correct

Lads had a shocker :D

Like you say when the 'free' beer is ending I've never seen anything like it. Hence the final few hours of the DJ set is fucking mental. Absolutely mental.

Brunches do get mental and even more so if you care to continue to the after parties. Can’t remember getting home from quite a few
