Guest The Special One Posted December 18, 2004 Posted December 18, 2004 to all who contributed in the raffle for Ferny. A total of ??820 was raised for his family. The shirt was won by Ste Hague who was a good friend of Ferny, well done mate.
Smiley Posted December 18, 2004 Posted December 18, 2004 At least some passion was shown by the fans today. Incredible what can be achieved when fans pull together. Not sure what Mrs Ferny will do with the money - would be nice for him to have some kind of memorial stone at the Reebok (do they still have that wall of bricks, etc). Or maybe it could go to getting him a really nice grave stone with the BWFC and England badges engraved in it. Well done to Brixton, Jay C, Ian and Happy for sorting a lot of this out.
Traf Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 A tremendous effort all round. To those who organised it all: and also to everyone who parted with their hard-earned at a difficult time of year. PS Excellent Wanderersways presence in the HPI today!
Guest ian Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 special mention to top ticket purchaser....jules darby. also to be fair to the club, they gave the shirt and got it signed (i think) and Anotony Comwell framing who did the framing at cost. Second time he has helped us out so if anyone needs any similar work doing give him a shout.
Smiley Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 Anotony Comwell framing who did the framing at cost. Second time he has helped us out so if anyone needs any similar work doing give him a shout. Is he the Latvian descendent of Anthony Cornwell?
brixton Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 Raising ??820 the week before xmas is a fantastic effort. Special thanks to Ian and Jay who did most of the selling. Capt zero for his contribution. :-$ Tony Cornwell http://www.tcframing.co.uk/ The edge tavern. Jules Darby. Happy for sorting the shirt out. Smiley for donating the t-shirts. And everybody who bought tickets. Sorry if i`ve missed anybody. Got to agree with Traf it was the biggest W/Ways turnout since the charity do. Even the Anthill mob turned up. W/ways no-one likes us, we don`t care.
Bea Smith Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 also thanks to brixton little lass who found a fiver we,d lost( and got to keep it for being honest). and to someone i wont name who accidentally found a match ball and raffled that too.

Happy Wanderer Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 A fantastic effort by all. I'm not gonna thank people by name as I think everyone deserves a massive pat on the back for this. Can't believe we raised ??820 at this time of year. From a personal point of view, I'm proud as feck to be a Wanderer just like Ferny. God bless you GSTQ
