Underpants
On kodi or sommat else? Got a tablet and it's running slow. I'm just clearing a load of shit and apps that I don't use. Clear catched data was something I noticed. Wondererd if that would create some space. Don't know what it is or what it does so I didn't touch it. e2e4
If it's android and it's over 3 years old, it's probably on its last legs Each new OS puts more strain on em it's the bloat from Google Play, if anything. I've got a Android modded Amazon Fire HD from 2012 , reinstalled android 5.x without google play, seems faster than it ever were. Once they needed to sell cheap phones to 'third worlders' the hardware requirements for newer versions of android claimed to be less, but Google Play got more bulky as Google got more megalomanic (!?) over it over time, so it seemed to defeat the point a bit. . just use google/bingdotcom to find and install the APKs directly. kinda works, most apps don't require google play at all. Can be a pain in the arse to disable/remove google play completely, you generally have to erase the tablet and mod/reinstall the OS, then never install google play. The first nexus 7 from the same time struggles a bit even though its similar hardware.. It might be because asus or google or whoever it were chose cheapo Solid State Hard Drives (its either because of a similar thing with certain samsung computer SSDs had , the Pro ones were better because the controller was better, Or it mightve been because 'newer' ones use the newer TRIM command .) i have more crap on my old nexus than the old fire , though, so that could be a placebo type effect Certain Android mods started to use this to help speed up tabets with that problem. but they're migrating stuff over at the mo , so their website's bare. Sometimes its just better or faster or easier to buy newer crap than get the old gear up to snuff again. Kinda of wasteful and a bit of a shame , but , sometimes its just how things are. Summat not 12months old might not want throwing in the bin, If you can 'Root' it without fucking it up, pre-installed apps and bloat are then easier to remove. Do you know the model? is a good question for the OP , as is which version of Andoid it is. Edited January 20, 2017 by e2e4
