  1. 8pm on Saturday nights are what dreams are made of. 2 years ago we had 26000 or so on a Wednesday Are people really reluctant to give up a Saturday night to watch their team in the playoffs?
  2. Wow. Could be on for less than 20,000 here. Wonder why?
  3. I expect Arsenal to win the league, but that point COULD be crucial if Arsenal slip up. What a game Fair fucks to Everton too. They’ll be gutted but they played their part in a cracker.
  4. With no real outlet on both sides, we’ll have to do more defending as the ball will come back quicker. Would also embolden the other team’s right back to push on and pin Conway back. if we’re so desperate to add another layer of defensive protection there, which I get, we’d have to sacrifice a striker and have Simons or Erhahon sit in instead
  5. I think he’s just part of that generation that only gives a fuck about themselves and nobody else
  6. Course mate. But the keeper can’t go and stand on the back post
  7. You’re a true patriot. Why isn’t all your money invested in Britain?
  8. I’d be keeping Tutu. He’s a good player and I don’t think he’s particularly expensive. We’ve done a good job of keeping him fit for most of this season so he’s had an impact. Can also play 2-3 roles Dempsey. Another one I like but I don’t see any sense in keeping him.
  9. Keepers can’t gamble on set pieces. They stand fairly centrally (a step closer to the front post than the back post. if they went and covered the back post and someone stands on the line, then they go front post, it’s almost a guaranteed goal if we don’t win the header. No way can a keeper put himself and the team in that position. With deep ones when there are blockers (I think VAR might chalk their equaliser off) keepers need some help from the defenders. We had a 6’2 and 6’3 centre back in there on Saturday
  10. Aye. If the weathers been good too, it could be a proper rum do.
  11. Our biggest weapon is our wingers and energetic forwards. We’re not going to rip that up by playing defenders in unfamiliar roles Having Conway on the left wing will not help us defensively. It will just cost us offensively. We are susceptible to that big diagonal ball on transitions. We have been all season. I agree it needs sorting, but playing 2 left backs and having less going forward will weaken us
  12. One for the purists…
  13. Amen sister
  14. It’s become a common thing at all levels. Oxford did it in their semi final.
  15. Even so... Don't think I've seen that at our stadium from away fans. Don't expect it to start tomorrow
  16. It'll be a hell of a jump down from the upper tier.. Fair play to them if so!
  17. Getting 6th spot in League for a team who played in the Premier league 2 seasons ago.. Surely they wouldn't
  18. It really pisses me off. People dig their heels into their political standing so hard, that they refuse to move. On anything. Utterly ridiculous.
  19. How the flipping heck has he managed to put that thing there! Great piece of work
  20. Paul Ogden. Ex Barrow DOF
  21. My daughter has been put forward by her school and coach to trial for Greater Manchester Schools u14 for next season. Whilst I do think the standard may be a step too far for her right now, it's such an honour to even be considered.
  22. Let them die and reduce the surplus population
  23. Far too many people who do work still can't acquire a mortgage. House prices are just unfathomable now. And a large part of that is due to landlords owning multiple properties who have the assets to outbid normal buyers. As a homeowner with no real interest in moving houses anytime soon, I hope the housing market takes a bit of a pummeling and we go back to people with a normal fulltime job being able to buy a house with a sensible mortgage
  24. I saw a fairly good solution mooted for this.. When a keeper, or player goes down. The players have to huddle in their own halves on the opposite side of the pitch to the dugouts. Any player going over to the bench will receive a yellow card. (water stations will be around the pitch anyway, so no need to get water bottles from benches) If any tactical info is passed to the keeper player when receiving treatment, they receive a yellow card - Ref to be stood with the injured player and physio's to make sure
  25. Aye, if we get there, there's 28 of us going from Walkden, so we've paid the deposits to be on the safe side, to make sure we can all travel together on the same coach. It is certainly tempting fate, but there's a pretty quick turnaround to get 30,000 fans organised
