  1. Understandable really given the abuse some staff suffered. Of course its very difficult to enforce, but there is always the risk that not following a law will yield a punishment. If say a copper happened to come into a supermarket for some lunch, he could issue a £200 fine to someone not doing what they should. Not worth not doing.
  2. You're right, though the issue seems that it might not actually be mandatory at the moment. Until that's cleared up, then some will seek to challenge to measures. Rightly or wrongly.
  3. Which is entirely fair enough. From the link, it does appear not to be properly mandatory. I had a chat with my lad earlier, his 6th form have insisted masks on at all times. Compliance is not an issue. I do think the ethos is set by heads etc, and that will inevitably vary. That's why the measures must be unequivocal if they want consistency.
  4. https://www.google.com/amp/s/inews.co.uk/news/health/new-covid-rules-face-masks-in-secondary-schools-in-england-omicron-variant-1324012/amp Looking at this there is without doubt some confusion. One sentence says mandatory, the next says "strongly advised unless exempt" Well that is frankly stupid. Either the law says you do, or not. Don't get it. In all fairness, if folk aren't mandated to, then it is a choice. If they are, then having their own views becomes irrelevant.
  5. On those highlights, that left-footed right winger caused a few problems. Was he a danger all night?
  6. How much are we losing by hosting each home game?
  7. Watching that Lee interview you can see he's quite a quiet lad, perhaps not one for the limelight. Does his talking on the pitch. Must be a manager's dream.
  8. What are the coloured layers? Is the black bit just black pudding?
  9. Jesus. It gets worse, by all sides.
  10. Good to see a couple getting a bit of a chance. We're not blessed with infinite cash, so you'd expect us to need to produce some home grown players.
  11. Change the locks whilst she's out. Leave ale on the doorstep. Whereabouts are you then, Boston way, spalding etc?
  12. Free thinkers.. 😁 In fairness, must be difficult at times for education establishments. Regulations and irate parents probably don't mix too well. Doesn't stop a few of them having a moan on breakfast TV though.
  13. Seems that's all they needed to do- just turn up. 1-0. Highly unlikely they were going to go all out for it tonight. Job done
  14. https://www.lancastersmokehouse.co.uk/ If you're ever in the area. Fascinating little place. If I remember correctly, they'll smoke stuff for you- bring your own dead creature type thing.
  15. BN suggesting the wanderers' massive doing quite well down the right.
  16. Ah, what a shame. Two football figures in a day.
  17. Seems a good grounding for the general knowledge round. "What objects are traditionally visible behind a sheet of big-d peanuts" "What is the power unit of a light bulb". Reckon you'd do OK on "soft drinks of the British isles" too.
  18. Maybe that's their plan. Fuck as many over as possible before we play in the league.
  19. You at the bottom end of Lincolnshire then? Dunno why, but I always pictured you closer.
  20. Yep. A bit like speed limits; one near me seems bonkers considering the road. But they've laden it with speed bumps and made it 20. I don't go driving down it at 30 or 40 though because it doesn't seem to make much sense. In all this business, whether we think a particular measure is warranted or not, one thing I fundamentally belive is that the authorities are doing what they see as the best thing at the time. Might seem stupid later but we all learn and arguably the quickest way to learn is for folk to do as asked so that an assessment of its success or otherwise can be made. If folk go their own way, then it's difficult to judge.
