  1. In fairness, sky have pumped in plenty of money, and their coverage and technology is excellent. Presumably BT is also very good.
  2. Spot on. It's all above my head is this stuff, but by the fuck I can respect someone who is interested and has some knowledge to share around.
  3. I'd wouldn't mind watching 28 in a few more games. Try to see if he can dictate play against a few teams. He was imperious at first, but once we changed formation, then got on the front foot second half, his influence lessened. Thing is, if he is consistent against others teams, his value would probably be beyond means any way.
  4. Absolutely. I remember at the time, when they showed him being on the TV after his passing, doing exactly as you say. Analysing his body language, and looking at his eyes. Clip today, that was before the programme, showed him chatting and smiling with a camera man. Was he putting a brave face on- impossible to tell, but having been on that path myself, it brings tears to my eyes when I see him and think "there but for the grace of God go I". Maybe because it's also the same time that my dad went in for his hip replacement, and never came home, that it is so poignant.
  5. Excellent news. Potential yellow suspension gone now and he'll have had a rest. Back for Christmas period will be a big bonus.
  6. Doyle should have scored the chance at the end. The others he had, fairly play to the keeper. That's what keepers are there for, and thankfully Dixon did similar in the first half when their number 6 waltzed through. They ripped us a new one down our right, and we're dominant until we switched formation. Fair play to Evatt for that, though I was surprised how poor we were at first- didn't seem to know their roles. For all Doyle's misses- he got them on target. Amaechi wasted 2 good chances too, and second half we had loads of opportunities from crosses and lay offs, but no one seemed to have their shooting boots on, apart from Kachunga with the super finish. Their 28 caught the eye for me; moreso than May. Pulled strings for them, but we improved after the change of formation as he didn't get on the ball as much. Finally a shout out for Thomason. Not the finished article, but he's got himself a bit stronger, works like a trojan, and has a classy pass on him. Haven't missed Sheehan particularly since he came in, and more than happy when mj is fit, to have a midfield three of those 2 and Lee. Decent game, was wrapped up enough to cope with the cold, and laughed at the lad as he shivered for the second half. Put more fuckin clothes on!
  7. It was indeed. Walker is clearly still affected by it. Sounds daft, but after reading that article about his family ten years on, then watching it, you just want to reach back in time, grab him, and stop him. Still a shocker.
  8. It swirls about though, but if its a north wind, it will come over the north stand wont it? To be honest, can't see Dixon doing it, as he tends to throw it.
  9. Just put mine on, ready! Bastard fleeing out there. Quite nice though, very refreshing. Which keeper scores today?
  10. Piece on the beeb about Raul Jimenez and his injury. Nuno ES on, and in tears recalling the incident. Full documentary on iplayer, called code Red.
  11. Nah, just good people on the ground. If anyone was thinking of going up to Beacon Fell- don't bother.
  12. Likewise. Last one from there just didn't seem so good.
  13. There are numerous variants, all of which take time to be analysed from date of discovery. Not an instantaneous process for the scientific community to decide whether or not the should be put on the "concerned" list.
  14. To be fair, depending upon the nature of the fault, it can be a far more complicated procedure than cutting up a fallen tree. Which in itself is not necessarily a simple task. I remember the f-i-l during his standby periods working for the leccy board, and the difficulty for him managing incidents like this. Lightning strikes the lot. Often many hoops to jump through with respect to safety etc.
  15. The header, last goal on the compilation, was a monster of a goal. Oh for such a joy nowadays.
  16. No power cable flapping about, writhing and hissing like in a movie?
  17. Not quite accurate that though is it. They could apply whilst in Fance, Germany, Spain or whichever country the have transitted through to get to France. Or even whilst in their home country. It's simply untrue that all these folk are from impoverished situations etc. By applying beforehand, it removes the need to make dangerous, illegal attempts to get in.
  18. Aye. The transport Secretary voted remain! Not that any of that matters. You appoint people you trust/believe in. That said, Pritti Patel, Johnson, the lot of them will be judged strongly on how they perform on this issue. Whether or not it was un diplomatic to publish the letter, or a deliberate attempt to push the French, people can still see the boats arriving. All the tittle tattle is just that, rhetoric and bluster on all sides. Time to utilise security personnel to find and destroy those groups responsible for the trade, whichever country they're in.
  19. 🤣 "It's not a cunt, it's a twat"
  20. Just seen a live interview with a lass in Schiphol airport. 1000 people held in a terminal pending being tested and possibly quarantined in Amsterdam. Come from South Africa. Only medical staff around, as airport ones are apparently concerned about catching new variant. This apparently includes no food being provided neither!
  21. Could be a few stuck in Sarth Efrica for a while though. Which, given the weather, may not be so bad.
  22. French fishermen bringing back used boats after dropping off a load! Crikey, didn't realise it was that widespread...
  23. One of, if not my favourite football players ever. Kept fit, worked hard, could do a bit of everything. Model professional and someone end up and coming player could learn from. Gutted when he passed away, but so pleased to have witnessed him in a white shirt.
