  1. Reckon he's going anyway. Been quite a few calling for him to go, and media talking about it. Not sure the owners will fancy another fan revolt.
  2. Great squad, but a bit rudderless. Paul Pogba apparently had a dig last week. Evatt would have had him at Stockport by now.😁
  3. The wheels on the bus have come right off, come right off, come right off The wheels on the bus... OGS may be on borrowed time.
  4. Clearly see Gillingham have dropped off a bit there. Maybe knackered, maybe settling for what they have. Some excellent stuff late on.
  5. Well, by the end of this game, OT will look like it does on the picture- no one there! Sounds like Utd have a worse defence than us!
  6. Indeed. Hopefully Sarc will recommend him to Stockport.
  7. Aye. An interesting point about their pressing. It did work, but they were hugely boosted by the initial gift. That adrenaline fuelled work will take its toll though, and we are a fit bunch. I think they're right about their players running out of gas, and we capitalised.
  8. Loan him out somewhere? May have to cover his wages to a degree, or maybe a free if someone else is interested. Don't see it happening though- reckon Evatt is sticking with him, at least for a while.
  9. Question: if masks were made mandatory on public transport and in shops again, how many people do you think would stick to the rules?
  10. Seconded. Similar to Dapo- if someone came in for him in January with an offer we couldn't refuse, then DP looks a definite replacement. Saying that, if Kachunga is playing at the same time as Dapo, then why not both Dapo and Politic.
  11. That little boy would be a bit of a sledge hammer to crack a nut!
  12. Context or not, other players, fans and managers can use such comments to their advantage. The Wigan manager talked about mind games. Not sure if they were intended as such by Evatt (I doubt it) but LR made it seem that they were; motivation for his team.
  13. Can always make such analysis. But if you look at both sides, sheehan I think it was dragged one wide, and dapo fired one from distance not far wide too. All ifs of course, but we could have been 2 up before they got a sniff. If Santos and mj hadn't fucked about with it they wouldn't have been given an easy goal, and we might have won they game at a canter. Goals do change games though, and had they put all their chances away then they'd have cruised it, so long as we didn't put all ours away. In short Evans is ballooning. In fairness Evatt has bemoaned us not always finishing our chances, when we've lost despite playing well. If either side did it regularly, we'd be at the top.
  14. Absolutely. Confidence, goals etc all give players a boost. When things aren't going so well, the opposite happens. What was pleasing yesterday was how we worked up a head of steam for the last half hour or so, and maintained it. Ran Gillingham ragged at the death, and that's difficult to do when you've been 2 down. Full credit to them.
  15. Either way, Politic could come back, prove his worth then get an improved contract. He's not getting a massive one in league two with port Vale. Perhaps Stockport will come in for him.
  16. Some of the points made about Evatt have some validity in that he does seem inflexible at times. On the other hand, he remained steadfast in his principals last season, and we get promoted. Absolutely no doubt that he is inexperienced and still learning, but we've also had a massive upheaval within the club, no money, and yet between him and Sharon, we've got our club back and on the pitch we're more pleasing to watch, and others in the game are noticing. He's doing a lot right, frustrating at times, but we're going in the right direction.
  17. Just don't give stupid goals away. We might not be the strongest team, but they're very fit. Keep working at it, maybe a couple more players in January and we'll be right.
  18. To be honest, they deserved a bit of stick on the first half performance. Even Evatt said they lacked confidence and belief. During the game though, obviously there some groans when passes went astray etc but the crowd responded well, particularly once we started to dominate the second half. More there than I expected too.
  19. If your full back is putting in most of your crosses, then the opposition will typically be set defensively. Makes it difficult to pick anyone out. Of course he could do better with some of them, but that's why I think Baka in the middle and crosses earlier might have helped. Isgrove's willingness to push on spread their defence, and it opened up more. Dapo got his goal and was a threat in the middle because we had started to stretch them.
  20. Did you back it? I was wondering if he might stick Baka more central with Doyle, and remove Kachunga. Crosses aplenty coming in, especially from the right, causing problems. Confidence is a major factor in all this, and we were low first half, and they were on top of our lads. An excellent response though. I don't think it was right to play Isgrove at right back, especially with Kachunga in front, but once we got on the front foot, he was playing as a winger anyhow, and was very good. Still think we could play some of the crosses in earlier, with the attackers bearing down on their goal- they defended pretty well to our slower build up.
  21. Fine first ten minutes. Good again after Baka came on. Isgrove great going forward, difficult sometimes in the first half for him. Worked his bollocks off. Lee immense second half. For a senior player he puts the yards in- reminds me of Speed in many ways. John looked fitter. Thought Dapo did pretty well in that central position. Aimson was excellent, stronger than Johnston and good in the air. Fitness levels again showed, they were buggered at the end. Early on their manager was urging them to press, but we had them struggling. Then our customary gift. Then we struggled to match the physicality of some of their lads, and number 15 was a rock. Brought trouble on ourselves by overpaying at times, and they were boosted by their goals and we were rocking. Kachunga is the new Farrelli, shits out and doesn't want to get his shirt dirty. Personally, I'd have hooked him and left sheehan on. All in all, they kept going, showed togetherness, and we might have won it at the death had Baka been on his toes to Doyle's knock down. Finally, achievement of the day: MJ with the miss of the season. The the positives and onto the next game.
  22. If he was being flirted to somewhere on less money, then maybe some recourse. Surely however, if he's getting a wage rise, then how would that work? He seems happy to have gone, and a free transfer on our part will have facilitated it, and maybe given him a signing on fee too.
  23. Hopefully they're up for it, eager to show what they can do. Be good not to concede early, and dominate from start to finish.
  24. Trouble is, he doesn't need much if a reason to toss it off. To be honest, it's the bigger picture that is a bit unpalatable; where is the line drawn? If everyone is instructed by the authorities to stick to certain rules, then ok. When a college starts making requests, even if it is a gentle nudge, it's a bit off for me. I doubt they'll be refusing to teach any unvaccinated individuals, but telling those that are what they should and shouldn't do...
  25. You would expect him to be able to give as good as he got. Sarc appears unmarked whilst holding his Stockport shirt.
