  1. Karen Carney commentating. She did say first claim wasn't, but he had 2 that were. Not seen it, will watch MOTD2 later.
  2. Aye. Fwiw I don't think we were out fought at all, a physical game yes, and they made it difficult at times because they are decent. We have a couple of obvious issues that need addressing, but overall we're doing OK.
  3. Aye. Just listening and radio said Ronaldo should have had 2 definite penalties.
  4. Perverse. OK if he slots it in then Noble's a hero, but fuck me, what sort of confidence does he have in the players on the pitch?
  5. You won't pull anyone sat there watching others dance.
  6. My chemist did the flu jab. Some delays getting vials, so grabbed it as soon as it was offered. No waiting for the gp.
  7. Still would sound a bit weird. Anyway, as good a place to put it, a labour mp can't go to her party's conference as she's received threats from trans folk.
  8. Did them both together? Had my flu one, just waiting for the covid call.
  9. Just watched some of the club's extended highlights. Kinell, don't know who put them together, but it misses out just about every opening we had in the first half. Unbalanced. They do confirm the lack of defensive cover from Sarc and Sheehan though. Williams can't do everything.
  10. Right, so what's this Parker fella been saying?
  11. Looking at that; he was one of the players that stands in an offside position initially. I never understand why, but teams do it. Having been offside initially, why he goes and attacks the ball I don't know- he can clearly see he's still in an offside position as the ball is coming over.
  12. Had a dream last night- quick one I think, the whites had a chance, keeper saves it twice before it's put in at the third attempt. No problems there- apart from shouting "yeeessss" in my fucking sleep. Woke up the missus, and fuck knows what any neighbours thought was happening! 🤣
  13. What's the best way of getting that message across though? Maybe his English causes issues sometimes, but getting the supporters backs up won't help. He's leaving at the end of next season- that's already out- so there's no need to build himself an "out" if that's what he's trying to do. What were the prices for the midweek match? He may well have a point, but maybe money becomes an issue 🤔
  14. Wsl? Was it a squirrel or a rat? Saw something dark shooting across the steps and under seats. Folk weren't so sure what it was it was so quick! Yep. He got a whack which didn't help, but I also thought he needed to give and go a bit more. When they've two and three guys on him, we have players spare and sometimes giving them something else to think about works better than battling with them. They deserved their win because they scored two fine goals whereas we missed everything we created.
  15. https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/spain/coronavirus Bit more than face masks too. Strangely, the UK has a population of around 40-50% more than Spain. They have had 85000+ deaths. Increase that by 40-50% and weirdly it is very similar to UK deaths. Just so easy to blame one person though, and not bother to look even a little scientifically at all factors.
  16. Yep. Good side yes, but we ripped them open at times first half. Reckon IE is spot on. When chances came, and there were plenty, they weren't taken. Need to improve defensively for sure, but in missing so many openings, we cost ourselves as much as the opposition did.
  17. Agree totally. Can't see him dropping the captain though, and Sheehan's forward work is great. The disappointment at the moment is the same lack of threat from set pieces as last season. We got a head onto a couple of corners today (Jones I think) but no threat. Teams seem quite happy to concede free kicks and nullify open play threats as we don't pose many danger from them. Could defend them better too. Had a debate about the back 4 with my neighbour, who doesn't rate Santos and says defence is poor. I disagreed as I reckon our defending from set pieces isn't great, but the whole team needs to improve on that. Centre halves concentrating on their big front lads can't be blamed for others not picking up a man coming in late. Need a stronger voice in the perhaps, but the whole team needs to be stronger when facing a corner.
  18. I would have started with Lee to be honest. Tighten up a little at the back. OK he doesn't create like Sheehan but defends better. At the time though, even if Sheehan was a but spannered, once he and sarc had gone off, they were sat in, and we struggled to create much. Early in the second half Dapo got a crack when fouled and hobbled about for a while. I wondered if it hampered him a bit, but without him at his best and two creative midfielders gone, we looked a bit devoid of ideas at the end.
  19. We've a couple of new signings unavailable, and our first choice left back out too. Plan b is a bit hampered at the moment.
  20. Jesus. He alone makes every decision does he? No input from anyone else. When Spain matches the low level of restrictions we have, see what happens then. Loads of people wanted restrictions lifting earlier than they were; in the words of whitty "we have to learn to live with it at some point". Unless you have all the answers and can prove they're correct then sometimes you have to try things 20000 of us enjoyed a day in the sun at the football today. Shite result but a pleasure to go nonetheless.
  21. A good shout that. There is a quandary here: sheehan doesn't look to rush back, I saw him jogging at times, and one in particular saw sarc sprint back past sheehan despite being much further forward initially. Something for Evatt to work on for sure, as teams are scoring to readily at our place.
  22. Doyle showed great movement again and linked well. The opportunities fell elsewhere and the midfielders didn't take them. That's not Doyle's fault. She should have scored his big chance though.
  23. Created loads of openings in that first half. Shots not got away and poor final balls. I feared the weakness in defensive side of midfield might rear its head, and at times sheehan in particular can be seen trotting back. Didn't understand the subs though. At a time when they'd settled for what they'd got, we took of sheehan and sarc, the two creative lads, and subsequently struggled to create much. Folk saying we were bullied- not convinced at all as we beat the press many times in that first half with nothing to show. The usual frailties costing us at the other end.
  24. I hope it was the manager that thought that!
