  1. Windows Phone 7 - It's the future, especially Nokia Lumia
  2. Robinson was awful, but I think Pratley was probably worse - we may as well have played with 10 men. Brings new meaning to the word ineffective.

3.8 is a bit low, but I run Windows 7 Ultimate on a netbook with a processor score of 2.2 and it runs OK - what exactly is slow?

What is the Windows Experience Rating? Start>Right Click 'Computer'>Properties and you should see a rating. Click on it and you should see the separate indexes - post these please
  5. Just had a phone call asking if we were interested in renting a box for the Bolton game? We once enquired about holding an event there - but they were about ?5,000 more than the Reebok. They must be trawling their files looking for companies with a Bolton address. Needless to say - we aren't renting a box.
  6. Even though I thought it was a load of bollocks, I tried hypnotherapy. Could have killed for first 2 days, and since then it has never bothered me in the slightest - and this is 7 or 8 years ago - I forget. Smoked up to 40 a day - started at 14. Tried several times to give up but eventually restarted. Mate went 2 weeks later after smoking for almost 50 years - same for him - never had one since, and says it doesn't bother him. His wife went, and it didn't work. Paid for son, who has never smoked since - best ?80 I ever spent. Guy used to be in Bolton, but understand he went to Australia. Having said all that, still think it is bollocks
  7. Can't get the phone/deal I want from O2 Want the Nokia Lumia 800 on my business contract, but they reckon they can't do it - consumer only
  8. Been with O2 for years but looking at switching - anyone on here use 3, and have any opinions, good or bad? Particularly coverage and internet speed Cheers
  9. From OfficialBWFC on Twitter...
  10. She should try watching us http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-16202590
  11. Went last year doing a few days work out there. Hotel was great - if expensive - around ?5 for a pint. Stayed at the Hilton Beach Club on the Corniche. Spent most of the 5 days there slaving away - was going the big mall on the Friday morning (holy day), but that is closed until 3pm, when we were back in work. Ate 'local' a couple of times - good food and good value. Smokers paradise - around ?5 for 200. Don't get a parking ticket - that was the system I was working on - can cost up to ?1000! Locals, well the wardens we met, were really friendly and always said hello, and tried a conversation. Too much time spent working, but what I saw and experienced, I enjoyed HTH
  12. Mentioned by others, what has Pratley added to the team? I couldn't believe it when I heard the team, and Pratley was playing - Muamba on the bench. I am not claiming Muamba is our saviour, but he can run, tackle and break up play for 90 minutes. Pratley can run - but so can a headless chicken, which is what he reminded me of.
  13. Aldridge was and still is one of the biggest wankers in football. I still bitterly remember him screaming in Allardyces face when we lost the 2nd leg of the league cup semi-final. Man is a total and utter prick with no redeeming features whatsoever
  14. Garty is doing the rounds - been on Radio Manchester City and 606 Blaming the ref for today, and saying lots of decisions have gone against us, and we have 11 injuries including 4 breaks. Didn't come out and back Coyle, but didnt' say he was under pressure or anything
  15. Venice! Pricey but wonderful
  16. Frank, remembering from last winter, you were our 'pot-hole' expert, I thought you may have an email address at the Town Hall where I can send this suggestion to? The roundabout on the M61 at Hunger Hill in the rush hour is an absolute joke. In the evening, you have got wankers blocking the entrance from Wigan Road so anyone wanting to go north on the M61 can't get on the bloody roundabout. Coming off the motorway from at Junction 5, going north, if you take the right hand lane to go towards Bolton, it takes ages to get off becuase of either:- 1) Wankers in the right hand lane, who get to the roundabout, and then join the queue to Westhoughton, instead of staying in the left lane. 2) Wankers already on the roundabout who refuse to let you out, probably because of the wankers in 1) above. Attempting to go North on the M61 the other night around 5pm, it took me 25 minutes to get from Beaumont Rd. on to the M61 nother, mainly becuase of that roundabout. I have 2 solutions - either shoot some of the bastards to make an example of them and hopefully encourage the others not to block it. Alternately, paint a bloody box junction at both points so that offenders can then be prosecuted. If you know someone who may have any influence on this - I would be much obliged - save me buying a gun. Thanks
  17. One of my most prized posessions...
  18. Stunned - RIP Gary Speed
  19. A more serious answer - I got my company to make me redundant, so I had a 'war chest' to start up with. I knew I had a certain amount of work lined up, and had some good contacts. Make sure you have enough work coming in, or enough in your war chest to pay your bills for a few months. As NorthernStr said - you can set your company up yourself. Get a GOOD accountant - he will advise you the best way to pay yourself to minimise NI, Tax etc. You needn't register for VAT until you get to a decent turnover (can't remember what it is now) - but when you do register, pay them and don't piss them about. Try and negotiate your payment terms - I deal with certain companies who pay on 60 day terms, and won't budge from that. Any work I do for them today, I get at the end of December - not good for cash flow. Cash flow is the killer - if you are making the money, but not getting paid quickly enough, or at all, it will kill your business. Don't do any work without a contract or a Purchase Order - if it is a big job, pay to check their company accounts to make sure they can pay you. Apart from all that - nowt to it
  20. Yes Don't know - but I would guess this isn't the time - it's pretty shit out there!
