    Indeed 👍

What I was saying, maybe clumsily, was the gap between top PL teams and the rest, even the in the PL, is massive compared to back in the day. But that Rioch team did feel like it was a match for anyone in the big games.

I would have liked it to be closer but it wasn't. As well as being miles better than us, Arsenal just looked bigger than us. I never really thought we would get anything out of the game. And that's how it turned out. But when we went in the FAC in '94 I felt invincible under Rioch and had high hopes of getting something. And we did. And that was when both teams picked the best teams available to themselves. It just goes to show how big the divide is now between the top of PL and lower league wannabes.
  4. I'm not getting dragged into that neverending pit. Hezbollah are twats. That we surely can agree on.
  5. Hezbollah are a terrorist group. What's not to like about these boom boom pagers?
  6. Was more of a defender so never really ventured beyond the halfway line. I remember my first game for School. Tonge Moor CP away at Crompton Fold. Played right-back. Won 1-0 and I cleared one off the line. Remember the pitch being like a bowling green. Secondary school was a different matter. Went to Sharples and the school team was a closed shop. New players hardly got a sniff. I eventually got in the side because I kept turning up for football practice. Everyone of the players where prime donnas who resented new blood replacing their mates. Fuck 'em, I was good and I should have played more.
  7. Well looked up. To answer your question, It's a big learning curve. Everyday is a school day. Well it is for me.
  8. You never stop learning. You've just learned something there.
  9. Yes I know it's been grim for a bit. But I'm a glass half full man. I would like to think things will get better under Evatt. A learning curve that he needed. I've never seen a manager so demoralised after a defeat. I doubt Evatt will get much sleep between now and the Reading match.
  10. He's alright to be fair.
  11. Fox, Bassini etc.. anyone called Laurence is an utter bellend.

Years ago when WWs invaded the Atlanta Falcons message board I got chatting to a Falcons fan and we sent each other team shirts . Still got the one I was sent. Unfortunately it has Michael Vicks name and number on the back. He turned out to be fucking wrong un. Luckily for me no bugger in Bolton has a clue who he is.

Do the Browns still play in the stadium with the Dog Pound end? When I use to watch the NFL that Browns end was likened to a kop type football end.

Every year I say I'm going to try and get back into this sport. Who are the Man City of the NFL?
  15. I'm not a pro footballer either. Just go with the analogy you plum! Nob out and fuck the ones booing. Business is business.
  16. Bollox! If I was a pro and scored against us in a promotion decider I would be right over to crazy corner flicking the Vs and waving my nob about.
  17. Rice you soft arse. Hate these I respect you too much to celebrate bollox!
  18. I'm assuming he didn't sing the NA during his U21 days. Maybe it's more down to not wanting to be seen kowtowing to the British monarchy rather than an Irish thing. The neanderthals are already banging their bones on the rocks waiting to spread hate. Having said that Southgate sang it, and got us to finals but folk still hated every breath he made. Who'd be England manager eh!? Personally I would rather Carsley did sing it. It just looks and feels like that right thing to do given his position.
  19. We'll be the first to play at Bramley-Moor Dock next season - YHIHF.
  20. Cheers, mate. I'm at an age that when you fall it's called a fall instead of a fall 😶
  21. This is me celebrating my birthday 😁
