I do not know why SS cannot see it, would make us stronger at the back and allow us the luxury of having a extra man in midfield even playing two wingers. We must have conceded double figure goals this season from long punts with our defence in the attacking half. Playing three centre backs would solve that if we only allowed Firino freedom to go up for corners. We now have both Dalby and Kenny to attack the ball from a corner Throw in Firino its more than enough.

What i was pointed out was that the team two season back was just a bunch of lge one Journeymen. At 21/22 Collins was at Exeter in lge2 and Charles was at Accrington. They both along with most of that team peaked in lge1 with Bolton. Players like Kenny may go to the world cup this summer and has already played higher than Collins or Charles and played in a final and played in Europe........Would command a higher fee than Charles or Collins. All SS signings have one things potential. Burstow is learning his trade but he wont be playing league one or two most of his career neither will Apter and ACD Rodriquez ripped that Evatt team apart at Wembley.......as i say journey men

Have a look where those players we had two seasons ago are now playing or not in several cases. ....Apter has a lge1 hat trick in the last 12 months Despite being a winger and went for £2m in the summer, Kenny is now a full International who scores goals and already has a better cv than either Charles or Collins. CBT is a top lge1 lower Championship player for the last five seasons. I never said anything about the new players last August apart from Erhahon because i simply had never heard of any of them. Taylor looked good initially but has fallen out of favour Simons likewise but is still learning the game. Gale is another who is hit and miss and that could apply to Burstow, Forss, and ACD they are all learning still and are inconsistent......The Evatt team was full of decent established lower league pros who played at their ceiling with us. SS squad/team is raw and full of potential.....For what its worth the 22/23 team was the best we have had under Evatt and we messed up that season because we wanted to win the EFL cup and injuries cost us dear

That squad had a very soft underbelly mentality which got found out at home against Carlisle and Wigan and away when it mattered against Derby and Portsmouth. I would agree perhaps that squad maybe was better than this pre Christmas but is not a patch on this squad now. SS is still paying for that squads weak mentality in the players he inherited. Most have now moved on and it will only be this summer onwards that we will be free from the mindset those former players had. This time last season most players give up on playing and did not want to play as they knew they were going in the summer, Gethin Jones aside This season we have four/five who may be going this summer but you can see the difference in mentality Tutu, Christie, Johnson, and Dempsey are all out of contract come the summer and three of those are Evatt signings but i may question some of their ability but i would never ever say any of those four never put 100% in week in week out. We have a major re-build this summer but i think SS is moving us on in the right direction

Chance for a few partnerships to gel. Would not swop any squad in the play-offs for ours. Seen enough of the new players to think we will finish strong this season. Apter i will call now who will do well for us. ACD coming back fresh in April will also be a boost. Rodriquez, Apter, Kenny and Taylor-Blackett are not match fit yet and all look good signings.
