  1. I must admit that doesn't enter my head. If we are drawing in 88th minute, for me we throw the kitchen sink at them and maybe risk losing through taking off a defender or whatever (I know that will never happen!). I really hope it won't be a case of it feeling like a draw will be a good result, that we have "stopped" them in any way. 1 point is almost useless and virtually promotes them both, but a win means 2 big clubs are under huge pressure for at least another week. Win or bust for me.
  2. Of all the appalling decisions I've seen this season in L1, that has to be the worst. As you say not only was it not a penalty, the "victim" should have got a yellow. This was after Reading had a very soft sending off for 2 debatable yellows.
  3. And when we went up in 93 from the same division, it was Port Vale penultimate game, also at home. And it might be a tenuous link but another team starting with P in last game (PNE)
  4. Well they should have had one v Derby in about 90th minute and it wasn't given, and yesterday's was "soft" (I haven't seen it personally) - and they say these things even themselves out over the season. So that's nice for Pompey, glad its evened itself out. Its probably cost us promotion and sent Derby up, but not to worry, give and take.
  5. I've always wondered how the "full house every week" clubs avoid having empty seats for routine night matches in winter and that rule would explain it. And it stops richer folk buying a S/T that they might only intend using a few times a season, especially cheaper kids one's. No danger of us not being "invited to renew for the following season" any time soon!
  6. That's a polite way of putting it 😀
  7. Good shout to be fair! I'm guessing the likelihood is massively reduced by the fact that they didn't used to play about 8 minutes injury time every game. Games always finished around 4.40 and if there had been a delay it might get to 4.45 at latest. Now I just assume a 5pm finish in our games especially if we're winning by 1.
  8. Presume he didn't watch us at Stevenage or Exeter or Wigan etc? 😀
  9. Fair enough, no argument with that. I think I'm just assuming that our one chance at this is to win all 4. For us to drop points and then expect Derby to drop even more from their dream set of fixtures seems far fetched. If they draw a game, great, and we have to capitalise, hopefully Posh will be out of the running by the last game.
  10. They may well drop points but if they do, we wouldn't need goal difference, we'd just need the points from the 4 wins we need. For goal difference to come into it we both need to drop points.
  11. Yes at least make them have to win a game to go up. If they draw at our place they don't have to win another game. There's a big difference between needing 1 point from 3 games and 4 points from 3 games, if we win next week that's 2 teams sweating profusely.
  12. How will goal difference come into it if we both win the next 3? Only by us drawing at Posh and them losing to Carlisle, that's stretching it a bit.
  13. 10 goals in last 13 games for Bod and Collins, not bad for strikers that never score or create and shouldn't start. Well played Tomo for the goal, that was quality. And when did a Bolton player last win 3 injury time penalties away from home in the same season? (Jerome). I'm going to stick my neck out and say never.
  14. Fair enough but taking Sadlier as an example, it will mean nothing to him surely, the current set of players won't know much about it. I'll be cheering them on but very frustrated at Rams luck this season, this fixture just adds to it. On the back of that non-pen for Pompey (who get a pen every other game!). Anyway, today's a good day, pressure is on Derby so if nothing else they can have a few days worrying about Wednesday 😀
  15. Very nice win, cracking finish from Collins, great to have Baxter back. Another Morley pen, I never doubted he'd score for 1 second. Just make Derby have to win all their games, job done today.
  16. I might be missing something but why would mid table/nothing to play for in league Wycombe, be arsed about a nothing league game v Derby, on the back of a cup final at Wembley? Anyone carrying a bit of a knock will play at Wembley, then miss Wednesday. Shit timing for this fixture, hope it rains for 3 days and gets called off.
  17. Yes you've had a quiet half, anonymous in fact.
  18. I just know if I was a goalie I wouldn't put my clean sheets on the line based on my CB always being able to control a ball near the halfway line 😀 Seeing that goal again, it beggars belief we invited that on ourselves, whoever was to blame most.
  19. Yes definitely a tactic from IE, but Baxter still not 100% blameless as he could have arguably said "bollocks to leaving my goal unguarded", players must have an element of reading situations for themselves. Hopefully that's all in the past anyway.
  20. That's my experience too. I've probably bought an extra ticket or two for virtually half the home games this season if cups are included, and its been no trouble at all in person. I appreciate not everyone has the luxury of being able to go the ticket office during the week.
  21. And Baxter going walkabouts. Santos doesn't necessarily need to bring him down if the goal isn't wide open. I'm not sure we do that anymore do we? I can't remember the keeper going to the right back position this year, to receive a pass from the CB? If so, fair enough, they've learned from it and it won't happen again. But Santos wasn't on his own to be blamed for losing that game (our only home defeat since 7th October).
  22. That's the average - no way is it that low for some night matches. £5 back for kids tickets seems very generous for the Tuesday night one v Shrewsbury.
  23. We also didn't have (is it 3?) community days with ticket prices slashed. Its brilliant when we get a big crowd like v Reading, but our official attendances in previous eras could have been a lot higher with similar incentives, it makes comparisons difficult.
  24. It doesn't seem 5 minutes since we were debating closing upper tiers so that there would be some atmosphere!
  25. Surely Neil Warnock's job till end of season, that would guarantee survival then get permanent manager. I want them to stay up - don't fancy playing them next season in L1, but if we go up one of the clubs I'd hope we could finish above, potentially.
