Coronavirus
Yeah nice places to live. Didn't appreciate it as kids, in the 70s and 80s we thought it was boring. There were 2 shops in my village, closed on Weds and 5pm every night, a bus every hr if you were lucky, train was 25 mins walk away. We didn't get channel 4 for years, no Gas supply, just loads of fields and woods.

Coronavirus
Every time the virus infects a new host, the genome changes very slightly, and theoretically you could trace it from host A, a bat, to host Z the human, obviously with millions of jumps in between. We can see host A, the bat, we can see host Z, the human. We cant see B-Y. But we can see a pangolin in the middle, and maybe some other animals. B-Y might be a shit load of bats, or could be a shit load of generations in a lab.

Project Big Picture
The issue is this in my mind - It's the TV deals that generate the most income - $11 billion between 2019 - 2022 for the Prem. Take the Top 6 out of the equation and the TV income will drop like a stone. Everton V Leicester would be your biggest match of the season. The London Derby would be Crystal Palace V West Ham. If the Champions league grows and becomes more attractive to the foreign TV companies than the Prem, all the clubs in the English Pyramid get poorer, apart from those in Europe, and the gap between Top 6 and the rest grows anyway. I think the big picture is shit for mid table Prem teams, but better for everyone else, when compared to the alternative of reducing TV deal money - the Top 6 can't lose either way Liverpool got paid £4m for playing 2 games in the world club championship - you get £100k if you win the League cup.

Covid 19 - Just out of interest
usually I'd agree pal - but seriously, folk need to be careful - if misinformation is spread and someone believes it and changes their behaviour because of it, it might cost them, or someone close to them, their health or worse. Its the old folk we need to protect, and its them who believe the nonsense.

Covid 19 - Just out of interest
and if that video doesnt make you feel sad, and slightly worried that we've got the rest of October, november, December, January, February and probably part of March to go - whilst some folk are complaining that the pubs aren't open all night , your'e a different animal than me.

Covid 19 - Just out of interest
It's not. It's 8 in ICU. 800 beds is the whole hospital, which will already have hundreds in for all the other stuff (775 were in on 30th sept) Theres 75 patients on the covid wards plus 8 on the covid ICU according to this from ITV. https://www.itv.com/news/2020-10-12/covid-inside-blackpool-victoria-hospital-where-intensive-care-unit-is-at-full-capacity I feel like I'm the misinformation officer

Middle road yep - I agree with it, and if the twitter feed said "WHO expert advocates a middle road approach", Id have no problem with it at all - I just hate Spin and deceit mate, I like people who are honest and open. Probably stems from my job, which basically is removing bullshit from marketing, I've been doing it for years so it's a touchy subject, Marketing wankers. And also growing up in Newburgh I had to put up with Parbold knobheads a lot - joking mate.

im not discrediting wht Dr Nabarro said Birch, in the main I agree with almost everything hes' said - have you read what he's published? - do you think "WHO backflips on lockdowns" is an accurate portrayal of this ? or not? https://www.4sd.info/covid-19-narratives/reflections-about-the-middle-path/

Have a look at what Dr Nabarro has published, or listen to the whole interview and see how a message has been misinterpreted by people yet again - why don't people paint the whole picture I wonder? - instead we gate a soundbite from an interview and a headline on Twitter - "Important statement from WHO" "WHO backflips on lockdowns" with an unrelated photo - total misrepresentation. I could just as easily quote from Dr Nabarro with the headline "WHO warns about going for Herd Immunity" , "WHO says herd immunity will will lead to lots of deaths as well as debilitating long-Covid among younger people" and post a photo of someone dying on a covid ward. I know fuck all about Jason Kenney, but if you have a quick look at his twitter feed the overall gist is "the federal government of Canada are cocking up the oil and gas industry in with regulation and green economics" he's a poltician with an axe to grind. https://www.4sd.info/covid-19-narratives/reflections-about-the-middle-path/ WANKERS.

Its not 4% mate. Its really, really not. The govmt ain't said its 4%. It was published by the hospitality union, and they ignored 2 pages of supporting information from the report they took the 4% from and instead focused on half a page. Its 30 odd cases that they've been able trace out of over 100k in a week. The data used to make up the 4% is taken from 700 odd incidents out of over 100k. So if the folk who made up the 4% had painted the whole picture and instead said "the government have provided data showing how 0.7% of the cases in a week have been traced, and 0.03% is pubs, and by the way, when we ask infected folk where they've been on days when they most likely caught covid, pubs/restaurants is number 2 on the list" it would be realistic, but it doesn't sound as good for pubs, so they didn't, and the govmt already know.- Coronavirus

Alex Jones' minge trimmer?- Things that frightened you as a kid
I hated it. Father O'Friggery was big and old, and he had a big scary Alsatian called Bobby, and an old house keeper called Kitty, very similar to Mrs Doyle in father Ted, Old spinster always making brews. Our church was in Parbold, it's a big imposing one, spooky. The convent used to have old nuns, and disabled nuns, ones that needed caring for. I just found it totally weird to go from the comfort of being in school with your mates to being made to serve mass with a load of ancient, God fearing people. I bunked off a few times and didn't have to do it in my last year at primary. to make it worse, we had an altar boys outing once a year and they took us to the Dr Who exhibition in blackpool, which was the scariest TV shown in the world for me, when I was 8.- Kids Footy
Yeah they have multiple teams at some age groups. I don't know the set up exactly, my mate is a coach there and my lad played for them before bwfc
