  1. By a long way, yes.
  2. I'd love to know how shite Taft must be in training to not be able to get a game ahead of that cart horse Santos. Disgraceful.
  3. Turns out, I was a bit too positive thinking we'd actually look like scoring.
  4. I think most have him figured out as a bad WUM by now. I had to mute him because of the second hand embarrassment.
  5. Defence just isn't where it should be. I'd like to see us look more threatening going forwards though. 3-1 Colchester.
  6. Delaney - Left Back? He's the most centre back, centre back that's ever centre backed. Hickman - You've got in a midfield 3 for some reason, his pace and deliveries would be wasted. Plus can't imagine he'd be disciplined enough central. Crawford - Obviously? you've got him out wide there, where sure he'd whip some crosses in but that's not what Doyle is about. Pointless. Also not got the pace for it. Delfouneso - Can play wide and would graft but deliveries would be non-existent, prefer his industry close to support Doyle. Darcy - On the wing? No thanks.
  7. Yeah piss the league with at least 4 players out of position.
  8. Tranmere are looking at Feeney... Worryingly, I think he'd walk into our side. Beevers is playing in a very decent Peterborough side, he'd be different gravy at this level. Wheater is dog shit and finished though.
  9. I think it's safe to say for at least another 6 weeks you can forget about a change of system. We don't have the attacking options available to switch to something that includes wingers.
  10. I think the key in this system going forwards isn't so much the midfield, it's the wing backs. They should be the ones getting in behind for cut backs or linking with the midfielder and the advanced wider CB to generate the offensive potential. Neither seem to be offering enough in that department so far, the one time we looked dangerous was when Hickman was offering this ability and we dominated, that needs to be happening constantly if this system is going to work. The midfield is there as a pivot point and to recycle possession until a defender is drawn out to allow a wing back space. I understand the frustration though and I get why you'd want to see more creativity coming through the middle but I honestly don't think that's supposed to be their job and may be why Crawford hasn't started as often as he should.
  11. From what I've seen so far I wouldn't say Sarce is so much a playmaker as he is an industrious goalscoring midfielder. Crawford needs to play every second that he's fit and we either need to get Darcy adopting that role as the only other player in the squad capable or make a signing for a player that can cover that role.
  12. Worryingly, it was probably worse.
  13. Disappointingly, Sarcevic looks well off it. I don't know if it's the role he's playing or the occasion is too big for him but he hasn't settled yet. I don't want to abandon the 3-5-2 yet, I think it can work, we're just trying to run before we can walk with it. Next week I'd like to see - Crellin Brockbank, Delaney, Taft Hickman, Tutte, White, Gordon Crawford Delfouneso, Doyle Midfield has a bit more movement and energy to it, should show for the ball quicker and earlier and be able to support in more areas of the pitch. Gordon needs to be given more confidence, he's quick, strong and direct. He'd cause teams lots of problems if he just drove at them. Jones isn't bad, just steady, need more attacking intent and by all accounts Hickman offers that. Crawford is key though, if he's not there we simply don't create anything and Doyle gets starved. I also wouldn't mind Zouma back after seeing some of the defending on display, he's miles better than Santos. Also, does anyone have a number Greenidge's agent? Reckon he could get me a gig at Championship level based on the absolute swindling he's done to get Greenidge a job here.
  14. Just admit we were shite and then, perhaps, actually show signs of trying to fix them. Especially defensively.
  15. If that's our level we are relegation candidates. Some of the worst football I've ever seen.
  16. I'm actually getting a bit pissed off here at the EFL's lack of action. We were being handed all sorts of warnings and notices, it was touch and go if we would be allowed to begin the season and certainly weren't permitted signings. Yet here they are; nowhere near as close as we were to a deal, signing players, hiring staff and all without any foreboding warnings of membership removals. Talk about competition "integrity". Get 'em gone.
  17. I've never rated him or the football. He shouldn't have got the job. In fact, Sam should have never lost it.
  18. It's not the defenders that are the issue, most very capable at this level, plenty of experience, big strong and quick. It's the system they're being asked to play already being exposed 2 real games that is. By asking your central defenders to drive beyond the midfield and be the catalysts for attacks it's always going to leave you exposed and I really don't think it's necessary. I get the idea, it's to overload defences and deep blocks to make them commit on an overloaded side which opens gaps elsewhere. In all honesty though I just want my 6'5" centre half to win the ball back and give it to a midfielder or a rapid wing back and let them do the fancy stuff first. Let's start keeping clean sheets and dominating teams into having to sit incredibly deep and then we can bring back the idea of marauding centre half's dragging 3 players out of position in the opposition's defensive formation. Right now I want to see the simple stuff working before we reinvent the wheel.
  19. He changed from a 4-2-3-1 I believe, to the formation we currently play with the 3 at the back.
  20. Where's everyone getting these IPTVs that have iFollow streams? I'd like to see us and some of the young lads learning the system in these cups but I'm not paying anyone a tenner for the privilege. I got rid of SKy earlier this year so an IPTV would work nicely actually, if anyone could shed some light on how they work?
  21. It's a position he can certainly play comfortably, I'd say its where he's played most for us and arguably been most successful.
  22. Because we have no real wingers with Politic out, the ideal would have been the ability to bring Politic on for one of the CBs and switch to a more traditional Back 4 and do either 4-4-2 with Gordon/Crawford on the left or 4-3-3 with Politic and Delfouneso wide of Doyle. Think we badly need a replacement for Politic's versatility, maybe a Championship or Prem loanee that can play as a winger/forward.
  23. Don't think it's for this thread, but there aren't half as many black men/people in America, just saying.
  24. I was under the impression they were dead... I am not please with the false hope I was fed by this thread. I'll accept a slow, painful death though of course. Let's hope they're 1 month deals and thinks rapidly deteriorate after a couple of losses early on.
