  1. £5m+ for me, any less than that and we'd be losing money compared to what he can generate for us in league position/promotion.
  2. I think he could even afford to slow himself down a touch, really draw it out early, build it up more Can't wait for that fella to grab a goal now
  3. The clap, I don't want to like it, yet I just can't help enjoying every bit of it. As its been said, it's impressive when done right and done in moderation. If Evatt and the players are loving it then all the more reason to crack on as long as its reserved purely for when Dadi is coming on or has bagged.
  4. I reckon Morley is quickly turning into one of my favourite players of ours since we left the Prem. Properly excellent, local lad, absolute little maestro and a bit of shithousery to boot. He'll go far that lad and hopefully with us.
  5. I don't know where that is taken from but for me it's purely conjecture, I see its something that's gained momentum on Twitter as a way of winding up opposition fans as well. In reality though, that £5 Million would have been received over a year ago and spent long before now on general operating costs and clearing debt accrued during lockdowns.
  6. On the contrary, work befitting the man

Aimson in midfield there, a typo I'm guessing?

As much as these new signings give us decent depth and the option to change things I still think the best way to get our most influential players all on the pitch would be in a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 however you look at it. Although the 3 at the back suits our centre halves more I think it weakens our potential going forwards. Trafford/Dixon Jones Santos Johnston John MJ Lee Dempsey/Morley Amaechi Charles Afolayan
  9. I think for some teams and games it can definitely have an impact on their performance levels but outside of the I couldn't give a fuck whether they bring 500 or 5000 really. Although it is annoying having it feel like you're the away side in your own ground noise wise.
  10. I'm not sure we can be labelling 21 year old academy products as deadwood. Fair enough, they may turn out to not be good enough. But deadwood is the likes of Delfouneso, Baptiste, Tutte.
  11. I've just realised that the fella you're on about isn't the big lad up top for Rotherham. I had just assumed the lad from QPR and Fulham had found his way up North.
  12. We've had a few of the games on the telly in the office. It is absolutely abysmal for the most part, but then that becomes the entertainment of it.

Love this sort of musing I do. For me - 1. Djorkaeff 2. Hierro 3. Anelka 4. Okocha 5. Jardel Maybe just sneaks in, obviously hugely prolific in Portugal and Turkey, but I was torn between him, Borgetti, Jussi and Speed. Obviously, missing a lot of the players from the glory days but impossible really to compare them. Otherwise Nat is #1.
  14. Said similar in the Transfer thread. Wouldn't be at all surprised if they get themselves up this year to see him playing for one of the big boys before he's 24.
  15. Just seen on Twitter talk of us agreeing a deal with Serie B side Cremonese for Dennis Politic. That makes some sense I suppose and a good move for the lad, they're in touching distance of the Serie A. Get some sort of fee for him now before his deal is up and move on from the situation seeing as we can't make it work for him here. Can easily see him doing well enough there and getting himself a move to one of the big boys though. One to watch for the "What we could have had" list.
  16. Already quashed anyway, made an appearance for Sunderland this season too so can't play for another club
  17. Will Grigg getting the mentions on Twitter now... No thanks.
  18. I'd be inclined to agree, definitely will give us a bit more solidity through the middle having a pivot of him and MJ. Plus allowing Lee to get rest will mean he'll be far more effective when called upon. Still would like us to be targeting a centre half but the manager doesn't appear to agree.
  19. First goal he gets a pathetically weak hand to, most other keepers make a routine save there. Second goal he places a dreadful kick straight back to the opposition, everything after that though he has no control over and a good finish. He didn't play badly outside of those two errors but then we lost 2-0 to goals that could have been avoided with a better keeper, they're the margins that come with the position. Not one of the positions to scrimp on for me and it's a worrying trend of Evatt's that he either struggles to evaluate keepers or doesn't value the position as he should.
  20. https://twitter.com/Rio_Doherty/status/1426876439215886336?t=LOR8bN05UVbBnorNLjCBFQ&s=19 Our new keeper showing off his skills here.
  21. All well and good, I'm happy taking on players for the City academy, essentially hoovering up quality youth from all over the place. If they want to use us as a testing ground for some I'm all in. But when we need a keeper to bring experience and challenge our current option who has shown a lack in key areas of leadership, this shouldn't be the move we make. And looking down at players on the benches of Championship sides isn't the stance I'd take when ours looks like he'd struggle to make many League 2 squads.
  22. Declan Rudd is currently sat on Preston's bench behind a lad on loan from Leicester. Only 30, have to think he'd be the type you can tempt into playing games.
  23. What more do I want? Experience. SImply.
  24. Waste of everyone's time this. Need experience not more kids that can't command an area or organise a defence. Dropped by Accrington after 11 games? Not sure how that translates to helping us, might as well keep our own lad on the bench.
  25. I'm absolutely baffled by takes like this. It's taken him a while to get himself going but I'd say he's comfortably looked out most dangerous and consistent attacking threat for a while now, it's a huge miss, especially considering the alternatives we currently have at our disposal. I certainly won't be one defending Evatt at the minute, but not really sure the use of attacking players is a point that you can criticise him for.
