Well on opening day performances you would expect a comfortable win for us but our record at Fulham is woeful so I will go for the ass / splinters approach and go for 1-1 with Davies scoring again for us.

Presumably the music is supposed to help generate an atmosphere at the games... now my problem with it is the 2 occasions when we don't need to generate an atmosphere are when the teams arrive on the pitch and when we score a goal.

Well look at it another way would I have taken my 8 year old to matches at Burnden in the hooligan era ... nope probably not. You can get a beer at the Reebok which is something you could never do at Burnden. You don't build a fanbase overnight you have to attract the youngsters now so when people of my generation are even older farts and not going we still have a decent fanbase. At least with us being in the Prem we are a viable alternative for school kids which we certainly weren't when we were creeping down the lower leagues. Instead of having the 4000 loyal fans we had in the bad old division 4 days we now have 18000 (or 15000 if you prefer) loyal fans that is how our fanbase has grown in the last 20 years. That has been made up in part by women and children but also my the improved match day safer environment in better stadiums that we have nowadays when you feel you can go the match without being assaulted by no some pissed up idiot . As for the music, the flags and the cheerleaders for the love of god please get rid of them . Well OK with the cheerleaders either get them dressed in something more appropriate for a 12 year old or find older ones who look good in the current outfits, scantily clad pre-pubescent girls isnt a good image for any football club.

Sensible words Mr Casino I have lived through Wolves fans chucking bricks down on us from the old Railway line I was there when the Chelsea fans took the Lever end been there done it and damn well dont want to do that again. I go with my eldest son and as Casino says it costs ??50 on top of my season ticket for him to go he is totally committed to Bolton and will be a lifelong fan. He has been a mascot (for free) which was the proudest moment of his life (and probably mine). Just for the record the Bolton players were fantastic with him especially Nolan who is a genuinely great bloke. Next year maybe the year after I am hoping that my youngest will want to go and I will be proud as feck that both my boys are Bolton fans and they will remember their Dad taking them to the games. The fact that so many kids and women are at the matches these days is a credit to how football has changed for the better.

I was behind the goal where Mcginley scored what a superb moment that was. We all expected a beating after the draw at Burnden but we thoroughly deserved the win how I didn't get a hiding from the Scousers walking back to the car I don't know as I just couldn't stop smiling.
