I am seriously starting to despair for us we are struggling to get people in, yet still letting the likes of Borgetti / Jaidi go ? I am not saying either of them are fantastic but they are better than having no one !!! Fair to say both Jaidi and Borg would be in the 16 on Saturday ?

Seemed a valid question to me so no idea why we have to start with personal insults. Seems to be the same on all the forums you can't start a discussion without someone having to descend it to the level of personal abuse.

OK working on the assumption that if we go into the season with our current squad that we are dangerously low on numbers and heading for a bottom half of the table finish or worse if injuries kick in. Currently we are walking away from the likes of Sorin / Anelka as they are overpriced / demanding too much money. Now there are two weeks today left in the current transfer window. At what point do we say we have to pay what people want just to get bodies in assuming they have the quality we need ?

I can't see anyone we have available for Saturday who has a prayer against Lennon if he gets the ball so we just need to keep the ball away from him (easier said than done I know) and whoever plays left back is going to need support from the midfield or we are goosed. Perhaps we could play Hunt there and Augustyn and right back ?

I have a horrible feeling we are going to get a hiding on Saturday so I will go for 3-0 to Spurs 2 goals from Lennon and one from Burpie whatever his name is.

While Ped and Fortune can play left back it is not the specialist position of either of them. Currently Ricardo is out until October time and is injury prone, Fortune is out for a few weeks and is injury prone and Ped has hardly played since Xmas last year and is currently injury prone. So I hardly think it is unreasonable for a club that is supposedly harbouring ambitions of Europe to have 2 specialist left backs since we have 3 specialist goal keepers ?

We need a left back he has Prem experience so might be worth a punt as I am not sure we can afford to be that choosy just now.

Plenty of clubs can keep hold of their better players to show ambition quite simply Preston haven't and have let them go comparatively cheaply. Just out of interest when Sam got back from his strenous few weeks at the World Cup he said that him and Sammy Lee had been scouting and working hard over there and had highlighted a number of players for us that we would see the benefit of during the coming weeks. Judging from the players they have sold in the last 18 months and the comments of their fans I know Preston have zero ambition to get into the Premiership so I still reckon ??4 million would get Nugent.

Midfield Campo injury prone and booking prone Nolan Speed not likely to last a full season as his age even with his fitness level maybe good for 1/2 a season this time round ? On one of Sams many visits to Sky Sports he was covering a Preston match and was asked if Nugent was good enough for the Prem his answer "without a doubt". Go figure
