Lion of Vienna or retreat. Park near Deane Church just down from the Vulcan and walk down the clough. When you get to the bridge watch it there for a bit, you can see the coming along the canal, it's a great spot especially if you know someone doing it as you can see them coming and get plenty of pics and it's fairly quiet. Then you can carry on walking to Chorley New Road and get a drink in said pubs. Be warned it will be busy there. I can't make it this year but FG is usually there with YP and a few others.

The Ironman is superb. It brings people from all over the world to the town, brings in cash and raises the profile. I know from talking to competitors they love it in Bolton, they say the people are great and the support helps to get them through it. Its's only one day of disruption, get involved, go and support it you will enjoy it. I know loads doing this year, some of whom will be well known too many on here, give them a cheer.

Iam fuckin stunned about this. The girlfriends daughter had her 18th there in February. I went to see them last September to see if the room was free and suitable. The old guy is an absolute gent, bit of a rum fucker, you know he could tell or tale or two and had a glint in his eye. He was telling me all about it and like any normal person was totally disgusted by it. He seemed fine at the do, seemed to have recovered and was in fine form which really pleased us. I was sent the BN link today and couldn't believe Nick Etchells was involved. I've know him for 20 years, not a mate just someone to say hello too and have a pint with every so often, never in a million years would I have thought he would get involved in something like this.
