Good post this. I'd go further and say if we don't go up this season, with the scenario you outline we could be looking more towards the bottom 4 than top 2. (I don't think we'd get relegated but I think we may be in for a settled stay in division 3.) Vital we get up somehow this season.

I agree with this but unfortunately, the way Derby and say, Barnsley play works at this level. I really dread the playoffs (never agreed with them), but trying to stay positive, the only team I'd fear in them is Blackpool. If they are in, it's over. Absolutely mustard in the playoffs them lot.

Absolutely imperative we go up this season. Think he'll get an offer from championship club if we don't. Will undo all the good hard work of the last few years. Wish he keep quiet sometimes but appreciate he gets put on the spot.

For me, it all still there in front of us to get top 2, despite this last week which we're all down in the dumps about. We've had shit luck with injuries but we've got enough to put a run together. Coleman is just fine, lads in front of him need to do their job first and foremost. These 12 games will tell us a lot about the mental strength of the players and coaching staff. COYWM

Remember seeing tail end of a Utd Arsenal game when Wenger was manager. Losing 1-0, get a free kick on half way with literally 30 seconds left. 2 centre half's stood there passing to each other. I'm thinking why didn't the keeper launch it into the box. Bit random but it popped into my head reading all the posts on here 🤷‍♂️. I like us trying to play football, but sometimes I think we need to get a bit agricultural.

The Derby game was a weird one. We were all over them for half an hour, they score against the run of play, we equalise. On top in 2nd half until they go down to 10 and sit back - with predictable result a bloody struggle. Barnsley, if they'd have got a 2nd or 3rd, our players would've been credited with assists 😆. We'll need to buck up and show some balls, but we're capable of beating them. Let's face it, if we want 2nd we're going to have to

The flaws will always exist because the players are division 3 players. That doesn't mean they're crap, but they will be inconsistent- that's why they're playing at our level. Completely understand Evatt saying you need more than hoofball to succeed higher up. Just think the inconsistencies in the players make it tough to play his system well.
