Bit of a concern for me.

I've thought, recently, that some of the criticism of Nlundulu has been over the top ... but that performance last night was a shocker.  I was hoping, for his own sake, that he'd be hooked at half time.  Fair play to Evatt, he must've seen him having a shocker but sent him out in the second half to redeem himself a little.  It didn't get any better.

When he was replaced by Jerome the lad next to me was furious - not that Nlundulu was going off but that Jerome was coming on.  I assured him that Jerome couldn't possibly do any worse.  A few minutes later I was proven wrong.  Credit to him though, I thought after that he held the ball up and laid it off much better than had been done in the rest of the game.  Bod coming on made us even better at trying to keep the ball in their half.

My concern is that even if Big Vic had been available would he have improved us last night?  Whilst he's shown this season that with the right service he can score goals, he's not the type of player who can keep hold of the ball in their half.

Charles, whilst being a massive nuisance for their defence with his pressing, and being our most dangerous striker is one who needs the ball in behind their defence, not one who can really hold a defender off and bring the midfield into play.

What we really need is a fully fit Bodvarsson up there alongside Charles ... but I'm not sure that ever looks like it's going to happen ... and I don't think any of the other three are capable of playing the role that's needed.

Hopefully this can be addressed in January.

Said this from the off but he needs a good pre season apparently

I’m not sold on Vic either and both of these cost good part of 700k

would love to see Charles & JDB start

Was mentioned a bit on the match thread last night about JDB, feels like somethings gone on and I wouldn't be hugely surprised if he left in January now.

We've got the mix with our striker options badly wrong here, and it hasn't been cheap.

Hasn't JDB just been injured and nurses back to starting full games?

I wouldn't be surprised to see him start on Saturday.

Hope that's the case as he's twice as effective as Dan sadly.

Possibly with JDB, if it’s an injury/fitness issue and IE is playing safe you have to ask why did we offer him a new deal?

the guy oozes quality over the others but if he’s not playing what’s the point

That is my hope, and tbh is best case scenario. I thought we'd have seen more of him by now.

He's our best all round forward for me, but if we can only play him for about a quarter of the season, then...

Ah thought you be a long at some point

his record of injuries doesn’t read well so you can’t blame folk for being sceptical

I think club might have gone a bit cash dizzy over summer 😀

I do think Vic will end up hitting about 15 league goals in the end this season, whether it's enough alongside Charles getting another 20+ and everyone else chipping in though I'm not so sure.

Obviously, but it feels like something more sinister has happened apparently. 🤷‍♂️

I think he sent on Jerome as we were under the cosh and thought he was a better option to defend. The penalty was a daft tackle, I don't think I have seen quite the like from a professional footballer. However, against Port Vale he did put in some excellent last minute blocks. So we have got to balance the argument. Dion, Vic and Bod will get us goals and the new injured geezer will get a few also. So it is not as bad as we think really. Another option would be great but maybe not affordable.

Sorry. I can't be arsed trawling back through the match thread to find out who suggested it in there.
