Politics - Part 2

Kemi Badenoch doesn’t really need to speak in public more than once a month and she’ll do ok. In that respect, keeping her head down is proving very effective.

Sniping from the sidelines and criticising everyone clearly has merit. 🙃

This is part 2 of the Politics discussion.

I asked AI.

Would the UK Japan investment deal have happened without CEPA? This was the reply.😉 Promise no more pirate speak after tonight. 😊

Arrr, matey! Me answer be this:

“Nay, not likely in the same way.”

The UK–Japan investment deal be like a fine ship sailin’ through uncertain waters after Brexit. The UK–Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) served as the charts, compass, and favorable winds.

That’s how all us sailors talk.

So it must be true.

lol The way Spider is hanging on is beyond hilarious. Still saluting on the poop deck when the water has reached his sternum. A good captive always goes down with his ship.

Blind faith in the worst PM in history (yes, even worse than a 49 day old lettuce).

The arachnid one is going to be very disappointed in the not too distant future.

Very good. And there’s @Sluffy thinking you’ve not got a sense of humour 😂.

He does seem to inherit one when he gets himself riled up.

I like to think I've helped push him into upping his game in terms of becoming funnier.

He certainly needed something to lift him from the Alf Garnet nagging, grumbling, moaning, miserable, senile grandad style that he had clearly mastered.

Like his ideologies, his sense of humour is still based around mirthless 70’s club comics.

He seems to think I expected any modern day PM to last longer than 2 years. Those days are gone.

His brain is so fried he probably thinks Trump is doing well.

Well done Starmer on the social media ban

Both my kids will be staying on YouTube.

My 15 year old will be staying on all his stuff too.

By the time it comes in your 15 year old will be 16 anyway.

Seems sensible to me but kids will get around it no doubt.

How's it going to work?

Not 100% sure, but presumably all platforms will need age checking/verification systems, presumably tied to some pre-approved form of ID (bank cards, passports). Also, I'd guess, that services that are aimed at children/minors will also have stricter regulations with regards to infinite scrolling and autoplay.

There will be ways around it, of course there will, but it's a step in the right direction surely. I suppose only raging peados and wrong 'uns will be looking to actively criticise the Government over the introduction of this

Will it include playing fifa online?

Again, much like YouTube, there's genuinely no harm in that for me.

Apparently not, but will include things like GTA and COD, as they're supposed to be over 18 anyway

That's fair enough. But like you kids will get round it. My lads been playing GTA for ages.

That Roblox stuff needs to be the first in the bin. Absolutely riddled with nonces.

I think they're preferring the face ID method

Good news for VPN merchants

We gonna have kids roaming the streets setting fire to stuff now then?

It Wont be perfect But its a step in the right direction.

Wouldnt be happening if these companies took accountability for what they allow to happen on their platforms.

No doubt

There's never going to be a perfect solution, but at the minute, it is a bit of a free for all.

100% - they've a lot to answer to, but then the likes of Musk hide behind the "freedom of speech" and "censorship" argument. Then again, he's mates with that turbo-nonce trump, so he's probably quite happy for blokes to send dick pics to 5 year olds.

Not you personally as not sure if this is your point, but people who oppose the ban rather than explain why the ban is wrong seem to focus on the implementation.

Social media is a horrible pit of hate and bullying. Keeping kids away from that is a good thing. The Social Media companies with their ££bns of profit have simply ignored chances to tidy up their act, they have refused to do so. The Govt is doing the right thing.

Let’s see which politicans oppose the ban and their reasons for doing so.

You'd be a brave man to been seen to be opposing it......or stupid.
