  • Don't get why so many are being cry babies over it.....we won, again and look ok, growing into the tourny, like many other nations. Seriously, get a grip and get some air.

certain moments in all 3 games where our defence as looked really poor, I know we had no Rice today, but better teams will score the chances Panama had, they were quite wasteful thankfully.

dr congo win and it's them or it's Senegal if they don't

As bad as the defence were Rashford was shocking. Cant believe he didnt get hooked.

Stones and Guehi are our best centrebacks. Unfortunately like James, Stones is another sicknote

Not sure why folk are fucking fannies for pointing out that the first 60 minutes were utter dross?

Happens every game. People seem to forget that football matches last 90 minutes, and the vast majority of those minutes are dross, no matter who you're watching.

And we are 3 games into a tournament.

Hardly gonna blow a gasket to win the group. We've won it with our eyes closed.

Last 3 minutes were absolute dross. Very worrying if we face someone who plays really good for the last 3 minutes.

France would've scored 7 in those 3 minutes.

Shall we get Schuey in for the rest of the tournament?

He's got far bigger fish to fry.

First goal achieved. Next.

Job done. I don’t worry about us scoring goals, if anything I think we’ll look more dangerous as we (hopefully) go deeper into the tournament and play again teams who don’t just sit in. Sadly I think our defence will get found out eventually. Just don’t think we’ve got the calibre of player in the country atm in any of the back four positions, so no gripes on who TT did/didn’t select in the squad.

First match I've bothered watching so far, bit underwhelming really.

But nobody is winning the cup at this stage, you can certainly lose it though.

Looking at the final group tables, the teams you'd have expected to go through have done, with the exception of maybe Uruguay and Turkey.

Agree with those who've said defence is a concern, they will need to sharpen up.

Are we really kicking off at midday in Atlanta next game ?

Be a bit warm that.

The fun starts now 😀

the right back situation is a complete mess

can't believe he's let it get to this

Think its indoors isn't it?

Mexico after on their own turf will be an issue if we get through.

Don't you mean 'when'?

Agree though, Mexico will be a challenge but we really should do 'em. What comes after that will be the acid test.

Ecuador would arguably be a bigger test. Not sure Mexico are actually that good.

Didn't want the Congo manager to pin my comments to the dressing room wall. Obvs.

The system ain’t working.

lots of individuals doing ok but no fluidity through the team.

We have got the balls out wide but they have produced nothing. They look more dangerous on the break than we do in general play.

Rogers been anonymous , Saka does not look fit, Pickford throwing his arms around when he does not get the ball - very strange,

72% possession and both teams had 2 shots on target.

Just really really boring like this post 😂😂

I said this at half time and I would stand by it after 90 minutes. Only difference second half was that Bellingham showed his absolute class in a couple of moments.

There was still a lack of fluidity in the team, the wide players did produce nothing, it was only when Bellingham put a cross in we scored. In the studio they were talking about the squad being set up to counter attack , highlighting how in games like yesterdays the system does not work well.

Rogers still not involved and Saka off early as clearly not fit.

We got the win and top the group so that’s great. My hope is that Tuchel is looking to build a team to win tournaments whereas as Southgate was very good at qualifying and then progressing to later stages but not enough to get over the line, let’s see. Tuchel is certainly more animated that Southgate.

The worry is around injuries but you can not select James and Stones and think you have been unlucky as they have both carried injuries all season. Add in the fact everyone who plays right back gets injured and no surprise the defence looks ragged.

The comparison with watching Bolton and England is that teams target the full back (for us usually left back) as it an obvious weakness. The rest of the defence try and cover , the keeper looks like he has a mistake in him, BUT we do not concede that many goals. Last 2 and a half games clean sheets

No forgets games last 90 minutes but at half time you can only comment on what you have seen. I am old enough to remember the fact we did not even qualify for the finals in 74 and 78 or even 94. So am happy that we are just there, but not sure why that means we can not discuss the game as it happens.

the defence won't cope against a forward line like France's

I'm not convinced by Spain, Portugal or Brazil

Argentina have Messi so not ruling them out

so right now for me it's France, then Argentina then anyone else

but like you I don't think our defence is good enough to go all the way whether TTA or Maguire were there or not but they would still be better picks than Quansah and Stones

There's been no need for any of them to have been convincing yet.

As others have said, the World Cup starts now. I would discount none of the ones you have mentioned apart from perhaps Portugal.

Portugal have a very good squad but they need to fuck Ronaldo off, as well as Bobby Martinez (the definition of failing upwards).

Agreeing with you is becoming disconcerting. You are right again with this observation.

Mexico have lost 4 games in their last 86 fixtures at the Azteca
