barryk32 Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Has anybody got that link to stop me getting windows and doors offers all day long? I already have both windows and fooking doors.
Smiffs Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 coldcaller.co.uk or sommat. when they ring, if the caller is female, ask her what she's wearing, if its male say you're putting him on hold then just plonk the phone down on the table and let him listen to your telly.
Mr Softee Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 there's normally a pause or click before they speak. Just put the phone down. If it was a mate or relative they'll probably phone back. Or you could always ask em for a quote and wind up the salesman when he comes around. =;
C86 Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Has anybody got that link to stop me getting windows and doors offers all day long? I already have both windows and fooking doors. If your after windows and doors Pm me or speak to the missus when you buy a butty, save you a packet
Bea Smith Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 wether its windows/doors/kitchens/bathrooms etc you just say you live in a council house-they put the phone down straightaway.
alibob Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 yeah pretend to shout through to the next room 'have the debt collectors stopped coming round yet?' .. might put them off.
H Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Girl in my place kept telling me how hacked off she was with 'conservatory salesmen' phoning so I suggested she get one round to quote (for her first floor flat).
brixton Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 www.tpsonline.org.uk Used to get about 7 or 8 calls a day offering me timeshare, gas, windows etc. SDW told me to register with TPS and now i don`t get a single call and if i do i just mention that they not allowed to ring me and they can`t get off the line fast enough.
barryk32 Posted April 1, 2005 Author Posted April 1, 2005 Thanks for a proper answer..... I should have known. Registered and we'll see how it go's
Keyser Soze Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 My favourite is to say that it is not convenient at the moment and could I have their home number so that I can ring them back later. They then tell me that they don't want me ringing them at home ...... yeah, neither do I.
Gonk Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 Thanks for a proper answer..... I should have known. Registered and we'll see how it go's The site says to allow 28 days for the registration to work, but the calls stopped pretty much straight away. As Brixton said, tell them that you would like their details as you have registered and they are committing an offence, and they can't hang up quick enough. (Or, if you want some fun, get their details first then tell them )
tyldesley_white Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 There is another one for junk mail as well, that works too
