Lee Bowyer

SAM EYES BAD-BOY LEE

SAM Allardyce wants to give bad boy Lee Bowyer the chance to revive his career at Bolton.

Allardyce will make an official approach to Newcastle when he comes back from a family holiday.

Bowyer's Newcastle future is still in doubt after his infamous punch-up with team-mate Kieron Dyer - and with Graeme Souness lining up new midfielders. And Allardyce plans to bring talented Bowyer in to boost his club's first European campaign.

Big Sam also believes he can tame Bowyer whose off-the-field reputation goes before him.

Bowyer is on a big salary so Newcastle would have to give him away for Bolton to be able to afford the package.

would be cracking signing imo...

I think he would be an excellent signing for us. he clearly will be leaving Newcastle after his little fracas with Dyer, so why not come to us

Don't like the stories I've heard about him only training when he can be arsed etc etc. The boy is trouble.

It's all well and good saying Sam would discipline him, when you've give him a 3 year deal on big money, he can do as he pleases with no comeback.

I say no.

unless of course you sack him for gross misconduct

see, easy

no worries

you'd not find many players who'd argue with sam!

bowyers class is there for all to see, the thing is could Sam cope with 2 bad boys on the team with dioufy as well?????

i dont see bowyer as a bad boy, he just passionate about the game and everyone knows kieron dyer is a red ginger...

bowyer is a red ginger, end of.

he is a scrote, hence the incidents in leeds city centre, and the publicicsed one was not a one off.

he is a good palyer which is why clubs have ignored his behaviour in the past, sam might make him into an asset on the pitch but he will always be a red ginger off it.

personally would love to see bowyer playing for us next season.

problem is it would make us the newspapers focus for the wrong reasons have bowyer and diouf..

Short memories I'm afraid.

Criminal damage when he was a kid at Charlton (smashed up a Mcd's in a racially motivated attack), tested positive for dope when a little older, the Woodgate thing, then Dyer, etc etc etc

Nothing to do with passion for the game.

I think he's a good player, not as good as he was mind, but I'd rather have good pro's like Speed. With EHD we have more than our quota of volatile players!

top player would be great signing, but another player who may be offered better deals than bolton can offer.

Indeed. Didn't he say he "wasn't going to be served by a asian"?

Total knobhead. I say leave well alone.

im sorry, i thought we were talkin about his football ability.......

It is not just whether he is a good footballer. His whole character comes into it. Will he upset the harmony in the dressing room given that we have a number of black players. In my opinion he is an unmitigated shit and we shouldn't touch him with a barge pole.

:D - quality statement

'everyone hates us.. we don't care' 8-[

we bolton, we barmy we,re off our f***ing heads 8-[ 8-[

i wish people would stop sitting on the fence and just say what they mean

Racist thug - we should steer well clear

Bowyer & Diouf in the same team - all we need is Savage and we'll have the most boos int' prem!

i don't think mr bowyers 'attitude' would last long with sam and mr ngotty about

end of the day, sam won't touch him if he doesn't think it'll make us better

Trouble seems to follow Bowyer around so do we really need someone like that coming in and upsetting the apple cart. Whilst he is a fairly decent player he hasn't really set the world alight since leaving Leeds. My opinion is we should steer clear.

that slap round cahill lug'ole from bruno was ace proper way to teach young upstarts to respect their elders!!!

Stick him in a ring with Bruno and R Jedi and say "be racist now" :D

=D> Good thread this one (for a change ;) )

Great footballer, just getting his form back before latest incident... I thought he was awesome against us at St James'

Maybe for a few seasons yet we have to accept the only way we will get real quality on the pitch is when it's in the form of flawed genius (that bigger clubs lose patience with) . . . or the class players who are nearly over the hill

As a spectator whose moods are affected mostly by our results, think I can turn a blind eye to turds as long as they help get us the results!

Mind you I'll probably change my mind when he gets sent off for fighting in a must win game ](*,)

he's got such a past history maybe he's due not getting in to a fight/prison :^o :^o :^o

from sportnewtwork about bowyer, quite like the bit about diouf

Allardyce has got the best out of 'problem' players like Jay-Jay Okocha, El-Hadji Diouf and Ivan Campo. Maybe not so much Diouf!!! At least he???s spitting on the pitch now!
