Best ever away game

Featured Replies

I reckon it was the Hull game when the pitch got invaded twice when we won after Stubbs had been sent off to almost guarantee promotion. We took fooking thousands that neet.

Leicester will always remain with me

At the kick off we were singing "Bolton are back"

They were singing "You're going straight back down"

At half time we were singing "Are you sure you're premier league"

Outside we started the chant "Taylor out" to which the locals carried on with as we departed for York on a stag doo

I'll go for the F.A Cup replay Liverpool v Bolton, from the 2nd division. The first time i ever cried tears of joy in years, thats the game that elevated us from obscurity :D/ :D/ :D/ :D/ :D/

Mine has to be going down to Norwich on Happy Al's. Coach full of lads and one woman...me! Toilet on coach was full of alsorts about 2" from the top, scarey stuff having a pee...if the driver had have slammed on id have recieved a tidal wave of raw sewage....good day was had...good result, police escort out of the county...and top night somewhere i dont remember due to the copiuos amonts of beer consumed :D

Wrexham when we got promoted from the Fourth took some beating

Hull City was a classic.

As was the win at Anfield (made me proud to be a Bolton fan for the first time ever!)

The 1-1 at Arsenal when we got back into the Premiership. Down to 10-men against one of the greatest teams of all time, and we dragged out a 1-1 draw. Awesome. The weather was out. The beer was flowing. A day and a half... with the Kevin Nolan song being sung throughout. Hey baby. (Casino and Henri Lloyd should remember this one).

Winning 2-1 at Brentford (our first in London for about 20 odd games). Great one this. None of the usual lads I went with knew I had gone until the Monday..... when I raved about "being there".

Leicester 5-0 was good for obvious reasons.

Getting beat off a bunch of 'Cottagers' 4-0 was your favorite away game ](*,) ](*,)

The 1-0 win at Man Utd in 2002/03.

According to their fans we'd beaten their reserves the season before and it was going to be payback time.

Only home game they lost that season.

For off the pitch "activities",

Doncaster 83

Rotherham 86

Wigan (all of them :D/ )

Port Vale 87

Wrexham in FA Cup 87?

Wrexham 88 4th Dic Promotion

Swindon league cup semi

The list is endless........... especially from the 80's.

everton away 2003/04 will take some beating

when we were in the hunt for rivaldo, we were playing magical football down at everton jus takin the pi$$ outta them really, we were singing "who needs rivaldo, who needs rivaldo", then went "you need rivaldo, you need rivaldo". a 'had to be there' moment i think.

Then was sick a few times on coach on way home wey hey twas a good night

blackburn when worthy scored the goal to send us up to the then 1st division, there were so many of us their it was like a home game.

Sheff. Utd, won 5-1

Two seasons running Grimsville first games of season. Cleethorpes didn't know what'd hit em on Friday night!

Liverpool, Everton, Arsenal, Cup matches

Port Vale, first match of season. Was I the only Bolton fan who was glad to see the back of Curcic? Great player but very little by way of end result!

Any Blackpool, Preston, Burnley game.

Wolves 2-1. Super John McGinlay! :D

West Brom on Special train in early 80s. What a route march from station to ground!

Good call!

Soton in the Cup right up to point where Barry Horne swung his boot in the 93rd minute....

Arsenal in the Cup was summat special - to fill the away end so far from home midweek and to beat a good team. I was living in Soton at the time so had to get to Waterloo to get the train back and there was a big mob of WHam fans I had to walk past - bit worried until they realised who I supported and started clapping.

Peterborough when we lost 1-0....just for the piss up afterwards.

Soton in the Cup right up to point where Barry Horne swung his boot in the 93rd minute....

That was superb until that moment, I remember the Bolton fans being marched off the trains and through to the ground in a big convoy. I seem to remember some Chelsea fans chucking some gas (CS?) in our acrriage at Brum station when they were on their way to play Munich.

Hull away & all of the cup games were special, but I always seem to have a top day out at Fulham and QPR (despite the 90mins in the middle)...

Remember my dad talking to the owner of the Pub right next to the ground, and him telling him that Manure & Arsenal didnt take over the pub as Wanderers fans did that night!!

Also singing "Oh Gary, Gary, gary gary gary gary Linekar" to Alan Shearer as he stood waiting for a corner to be taken - he didnt know how to react. Devasted when Wales No1 decided his hands had a massive hole in them!!!!!

First time it really hit me Bolton had a large hardcore following!! A wednesday night sellout and proper standing in caged pens, with everyone swaying!!!
