We had a lot more possession than them and we are still in a strong position to qualify, and I thought Lampard played quite well alongside Beckham. Right that's the positives out of the way.

Sven got the formation wrong big style, the midfield are great individuals who are shite together in this system and it's clear that Rooney playing where he did tonight is a waste of his talent. When we play in Germany Michael Owen will be match fit, he is not there yet by a long way. Owen and Rooney can then play down the middle. Wright-Philips looks booked to start on the right but he looks naive at times making the wrong choice of pass but his pace is phenominal. My personal choice on the left side of midfield at the World Cup is Downing. As much as I rate Gerrard he would have to be sacrificed. Lampard and Beckham would play much better this way and Gerrard would fit in well with one of the other two but all three together just hasn't worked [-X We have a choice of quality players for the back four and Robinson looks more solid every match.
