Mike Hunt
Pompey have spent ??12M so far this month, and none of the players have made me think "feck me, I wish we'd signed them". Northy - rhetorical question?

But to be fair to Pompey , we are looking to push for a Champs league place (I hope) and they are looking to stay in the prem league

M46
I wish we had their (Pompeys) money to spend but its never going to happen. Im not jealous by any means but dislike Deadkrap with a passion and hope he fails miserably. Why would Spuds get rid of three players when they are trying for a european spot? More money for transfers? Getting rid of the dead wood? The latter me thinks

Guest
What the signings does highlight is the fact that they are prepared to pay over the odds for players. ??7.5m!!! I think spurs have actually made money on all three players, even though they are reserve players!! TBH has just had his value upped from ??5m to ??8m

Site Supporter HomerJay Posted January 12, 2006 Author Site Supporter Share Posted January 12, 2006 i'd say pamerot 1.5m mendes 2.5m davis 3m which are reasonable prices of ya ask me...
Guest
Mendes cost a fortune, Davis was about ??3million and the other as ??2 million I think. Thay havent made anything! One thing about managers having money. Sam would become a whoe different manager with money. Money changes a manager, in many ways it can make a manager become lazy.....Eg Moyes! exiledwhite2
Spurs made ??1/2m overall on the fees they paid for these lads Considering none of them could get in the team they've done very well to more than recoup the fees they paid Redknapp pays money for some right shite..his philosophy is that one in every two will be a decent signing I think!! As long as it doesn't cost the club too much, not a bad philosophy to have. How many of Sam's poor signings have cost the club a lot of money? Jermaine Johnson? Jardel? Pamerot only cost ??175k and has made 2 sub appearances Mendes cost ??2m and played 3 + 3sub Davies cost ??2m and made 1 sub appearance. I think they are inflated and have expected to pay similar to be honest
Smiley
I wish we had their (Pompeys) money to spend Why? Isn't everyone happy with the ways things are? We gave Colin Todd money and he wasted it. Big Sam has no track record in spending big - he may also waste it. Let's keep things tight like they are now, I'm happy with how things are at my football club. I really detest Wigan and Chelsea. I don't class their achievements as.... well achievements really. They have bought their successes just like Blackburn did all those years ago.

Im as happy as a pig in shit with the way things are going, crickey I used to get excited when the likes of Bristol city and Stoke filled half the embankment so nobody is happier than me with the way things are going under Sams guidence, started of course by Mr. Rioch. I just wish Sam had the chance to spend a bit of cash. Do you all remember when they introduced the bronze, silver and gold memberships at Burnden? (Ive mentioned this before on here) They promised us we`d be in the Premiership by the year 2000. How far wev`e come since those halcyon days.
