Dobbies Social club at Bradley Fold is a decent venue. As is Astley Bridge Conny Club.

Speaker suggestion: Stuff sportsmen, try the air Traffic Controller. Funny as F??ck!

Last years event was superb. Doctor Kevin Jones was the speaker and was awesome. Some people off this site wouldn`t attend because they hadn`t heard of him. ](*,) We`d all heard of Frank Worthington and look how shite he was.

Horwich RMI was a good venue for the dinner, decent food at a reasonable price but seeing as nobody from Horwich bothered to attend the dinner i fail to see the point of going there this year.

Cheers Traf, any offers of help will be greatly appreciated. =D>

What about Widnes Rugby Club, that way I don't have to walk around a hotel all night and clock up a massive bar bill :D

Yep, just like last year.

get RV as MC

A decent comedian we had was a guy called max pressure....he was decent.

theres also another geezer who is a bit dearer but supposed to be v.v funny. can't remember his name though, i'll post it when i get home.

Brixton, will just reitterate what I've said for a while, any help you need, with anything, just ask.

Can maybe ask LLCC what they would charge - similar size room to RMI

Speaker - Steve Kinden? Seem to remember him being pretty good.

I would really like to put forward Mediquip for Kids as one of the chosen charities. I know one of the fund raisers and she would probably help out with any stuff required to get this dinner off the ground, etc. Its her job!

LLCC is nowhere near the size of HRMI. HRMI can fit 210 in no probs. They also do very good catering at a good price.

I agree what you said about most of the people from the didnt come from horwich.

how many does dobbies hold and how much for food?

Saw Max Pressure a couple of years ago - he was funny as f*ck, well worth trying to book him I would say

this is the chap who is supposed to be the best going

I emailed him and asked his agent how much for our do. He came back with ??600, i told him to feck off and then he come back saying "how much will you pay!!!!"

My mate has seen him and has said he is the best he has ever seen (and he has seen alot, including chubby brown and billy connelly.

We will be booking him sometime in the future if all goes well. Not for our event in march though.

pack horse or whatever its called has a room upstairs

Dont think it holds too many

a function room, not a bedroom, you idiot ](*,)

Does it have to be held in Bolton?

YEH I KNOW. YOU NEED SOMEWHERE THAT HOLDS ABOUT 200 AND WONT CHARGE YOU THE EARTH FOR SOME DECENT TUCKER.

THINK THE PACK HORSE IS A NO-NO ON BOTH COUNTS.

Does it have to be held in Bolton?

ermmm.....

it would appear to make sense

Does it have to be held in Bolton?

Let's have it in Prague.

Hhhmmm, Prague sounds ok :-k

I was thinking the room at Leigh Miners upstairs is a cracking room for the likes of a sportsmans dinner, have been to quite a few do's there and its good venue(plus a taxi home for me would not cost too much 8-[ ) but if it has to be Bolton then this is no good
