I would really like to put forward Mediquip for Kids as one of the chosen charities. I know one of the fund raisers and she would probably help out with any stuff required to get this dinner off the ground, etc. Its her job!

Who to raise money for is not a problem at the moment.

Ukrainian Club on Castle Street in Bolton would be a good venue. Just being refurbished. Cheap ale and spirits. Excellent function room - even has a proper stage. Centrally located for town, taxis, trains, airports, etc.

Reckon it must hold well over 200.

Just a suggestion like.

doubt they have their own caterers.

decent venue though

LLCC. doesnt charge to hire the room out and you can get 160 in easy.

That doesnt matter. you could probably have waiting on so people wouldnt have to go to the bar.

not sure how you can get 160 in for a sit down meal (with enough room for everyone)

from past dinners we have held. there has been 160 people there and was comfortable in space.

Isn't it full of ethnics?

Loads of caterers do outside events.

....... As is Astley Bridge Conny Club.

I think this would be a cracking venue.

I shall be available to help out in anyway possible for this event.

It'd be hell of a trek home for you though! :^o

Ukraine Club uses the services of a very, very good caterer who I have used on a number of family functions (at various venues). He also runs a hotel and caters for his guests - a well qualified chef.

Not too many other venues more central to town than this.

I think Horwich and Astley Bridge could be seen as inaccessible by some - and therefore used as an excuse for non-attendance.

Think we should shortlist 3-4 venues, send a party of delegates out to weigh them up and make a choice based on size, capability, catering, price and most importantly price per pint.

Price per pint is exactly the reason you don't want to be in town.

Doffcocker used to have a room upstairs. How many do you expect to attend?

We're looking at about 180 to 200 attending.
