but surely the protesters holding banners that say (can't remember the exact words) behead those insult those who insult the prophet, are causing religious hatred

why aren't they charged like nick griffin?! and then quizzed in a court room

that lad who dressed as a suicide bomber, what a sick bastard, and what happened to him... fcuk all

this country has gone down the ragging toilet

It's only a matter of time, there will be blood on the streets of England. War, what is it good for?

Imagine wog weekly printing a picture of Jesus stuck up a horse watched by God being blown by a cockney rent boy.

Methinks there would be a few people a tad upset.

However, they would not set fire to property over it, oh no, they would set up a host of commitees and sub committes, have a few debates, eats lots of home made fairy cakes and drink lots of tea, and then, realising it was all their own fault for not embracing suicide bombers into the neighbourhood, meet with local muslim community leaders and donate the next 4 years budget for the essential roof repairs to a charity for beaten and abused Bangladeshi wives, just to make themselves feel that little bit better.

actually the equivalent could be seen on most christmas cards any drawing of the prophet is punishable by death.

personally i think it`s a bacon thing

Where do you buy your christmas cards from?

The ragheads only understand one thing. It is either us or them. A fourth world war? Now, which result shall I bet on? Advanced technology v primitive savages? Hmmmmm...have to give this a lot of thought.

coffee aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall over the screen :D

I've been on about this on one or two other forums I frequent and I'm quite frankly bored of it now so I'll just say:

"If people looked at these cartoons and were to replace the images of the Holy Prophet with images of Jesus Christ or the Virgin Mary, they can see that, even in our culture, there would be similar outrage."

That was Jack Straw.

What f??ckin planet is he on? If you did that with JC the vicar might nip round for a quiet chat. That wouldn't matter anyway as The Guardian would be running them every day for a month in order to 'speak truth to power.'

Will no-one stand up to fascists if they are Islamic ones?

Pah.

Peter Hain has criticised the demonstrators outside the Danish Embassy this weekend. I find that a bit rich from somebody who spread nails and broken glass on rugby pitches in protest against the touring South African team a few years ago.

Well to be fair I don't see much moral equivalence between what he did and calling for people to be beheaded.

i do not condone the actions of some protesters.

the red ginger dressed up as bommber should be out in prison, for inciting racial hatred - i mean put on trial....

but how thick is the editor of the newspaper, he knew or should have done how offensive such material would be, if someone stirs up a hornets nest then you get a reaction.

you can not say publishing the articles is freedom of speech and then complain about how people choose to protest. To muslims to images are just as offensive as the pussy dressed up as a bomber is to us.

When you cook Islams they taste just like banana fritters

No-one should decline to print something because they are scared of the backlash from extremists. That is the path to self-censorship and we are in danger now of a state of affairs for more serious than what would have come about if that cretinous religious hatred bill had got through last week.

If a newspaper was threatened by Christian groups for publishing something on, say, abortion, would there be such a 'oh but they're upset because we've offended them.' Course not. But there prevails a patronising and unintentionally racist view of Muslims that we need to pander to them as if they are children. F??ck bowing to their demands. I'm not living by the rules of someone else's religion (or any religion for that matter), I don't care how upset they are.

For f??ck's sake someone behave like an adult.

maggie to make my point clear he was stupid because he said he did nt know how offended some people would be by the article.

if he knew it would be offensive and published anyway under 'freedom of expression' then fair enough. a number of other papers have repeated the cartoon to show their support, this is done knowing the back lash they may have got, their call.

that guy dressed like a suicide bomber has come out today and said sorry.

now do you think he honestly meant that or, do you think he has realised that as his picture was beemed all over the world that he might have a knock on his kebab shop window by a just a little angry member of a 7/7 victims family

He's a student, not a kebab shop owner.

Were you genuinely mistaken or just pig ignorant?

Lucky for him he was only advocating the murder of fellow humans - had it been foxes, the coppers would have laid into him big time.

Omar Khayam 2006: dressed as a suicide bomber in London

The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam 1120.

Verse 26:

Why, all the Saints and Sages who discuss'd

Of the Two Worlds so wisely--they are thrust

Like foolish Prophets forth; their Words to Scorn

Are scatter'd, and their Mouths are stopt with Dust.

Ok then, what do you think would have happened if he'd been shot in the head and killed by the Police?

They'd have made him into Banana Fritters?

he should have been shot dead if the met was going by the letter of the law brought in by our soft government. how can they get away scot free with banners like they had yet. you can be thrown out and arrested in the reebok for falling asleep after a few beers.

my mate at uni is from croydon and he knows racism is one way, he says he's used and abused this fact to his advantage on numerous occasions. [-( scumbag
