I have had a phone call of a friend this morning whos friend is best mate with Sam Allrdyce best mate and he said that newcastle spoke to sam saturday about being there next manager to which he said yes and it is said to be announced by the weekend:-

 

William Hill are offering 5/1 where as everyone else is 5/2 - 100/30 i have lumped on at 5/1.

 

I thought i would pass this on as it makes logical sense to me as big sam needs a bigger stage than Bolton, no offence but he must be cheesed of with working with such a tight budget.

would be very suprised if he went to newcastle with the england job a possibilty for sam, i think once the england job is sorted if sam has not been selected, he may go to newcastle, but maybe Shepherd is looking for a big name foreign coach.

Big Phil Scolari has thrown his hat into the ring.

After the Souness fiasco i.e. the fans not taking to him, Shepherd and Hall have given the fans a say in who should be the next Newcastle Manager. Sam was given the thumbs down in the Geordie fans survey, instead they have elected Martin O'Neill, Kevin Keegan and Ottmar Hitzfield

 

I suspect that the Newcastle board will be influenced by this as they wont want another supporters revelouton. I'd get my money on O'Neill who has indicated he 'may' be interested in the job

 

Plus, I layed ??20 on Sam not being the next Newcastle manager so it's safe as old houses

If Sam doesn't go to Newcastle, and IF Sam doesn't get the England gig how long will it be before Sam has it on his toes away from the Reebok? It's not a nice feeling to have is this.

 

The board should offer Sam a 10year extension to his contract but with a stipulation in it saying that we can sack him, with no compo to him, if we are doing shite.

i went out drinking with a mate who is a football coach on friday, he is good mates with a lad who works coaching at bolton.

 

the set up behind the scenes is apparently 'miles ahead' of most other premiership clubs, if sam goes he will probably take all the back office with him aqs well.

 

the bad news is that this will probably rip the heart out of the club.

 

the good news is that this would cost a fortune in compensation so could be off putting.

 

it would also take a couple of years to get this fully up and running anywhere else so if sam is looking to retire in 5 years will he really want to spend 2 years starting again.

 

i am convinced he will not be offered the job, if he was he would nt go.

The lad in question said he would and most of the other would as Sam is why they came to bolton.

 

'blindly follow' is unfair as sam is using techniques other managers do not grasp, so any replacement might not want them at bolton.

 

they will go where the money beckons at the end of the day.

 

if you look at the mess newcastle are in, you have to think there are issues throughout the back office.

 

what sam does so well, apparently, is to understand a bit about everything but then have experts in place who do the actual work, he does pretend to be au fait with everything they do but he backs them 100%.

 

the older players in particular think the set up is incredible.

Would Freddie Shepherd even offer Sam the Newcastle job? Would he hope that Sam won't walk out before the season has even started should he get the nod from the FA?
